That's crazy that people do that in theaters. I'm so easily distracted that sometimes the only way I even fully pay attention to a movie is when I'm with other people or in a theater so I pay attention to not be rude lol

Saw this last week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've never been a Superman fan, but have wanted to see this since the first trailer and I loved every second of it. I loved how lived in the world is and how nonplussed people are about their safety around massive kaiju type creatures and interdimensional beings. Loved the Justice Gang, Mr Terrific is... well... terrific. Krypto is a menace and I love it. I love Isabela Merced, so Hawkgirl is now my favourite. I loved the Supergirl cameo and how it was just "oh here she is... now she's gone" with no big OMG moment needed to introduce her.

Bravo James Gunn. You've got me excited with The Suicide Squad, but now i'm fully invested in this new universe. Need to go back and watch Creature Commando's now.

The Watch podcast make this point about both Gunn being cancelled and Superman being cancelled a moment of finding the artist in the art was an interesting point.

Superman made inappropriate jokes? I mean that punk rock line was pretty cringe, but that seems a bit much to cancel him over it.

    I’ve seen Superman.

I have many, many thoughts, which I’ll probably share over the coming days. But I really liked it.

I thought it worked especially well as an entry way into a new cinematic universe. Just so many fully realized, engaging characters. I’ll follow any and all of them.

That would be funny, maybe, but after doing an Ultraman here that borrows from Bizarro, kind of want them to do someone else.

There are so many Superman villains that haven't seen the light of day in a film yet. At least do Brainiac, Doomsday, maybe Parasite first.

I definitely foresee Brainiac working in this universe. Or even Mongul. Or the Black Mercy.

Clearly that casting suggestion was more because it’s a funny idea than anything else.

But if we’re seriously considering a villain for another Superman movie. It’s Brainiac. It’s so obviously Brainiac that I cannot believe we haven’t gotten there yet, lol. He’s the non Lex villain who has the most cinematic potential for a “big bad,” who would lend himself to cool iconography and spectacle and interesting story layers and seeds for future stories.

Yeah. And Brainiac can also introduce the bottle city of Kandor, which feels like something Gunn would have fun with.

Right, so much potential in expanding and exploring Krypton through that angle. Also could work some other lesser Superman and broader DC alien concepts in there. (Could even have a Doomsday in there, if we must do that again, lol.)

And, if Supergirl warranted a sequel, they could do a Legion story after we’ve already seen Brainiac, to have the interesting angle of Brainiac 5 being his heroic descendent.

Final got a chance to see this with some friends last night in IMAX. Loved it. Thought this was very refreshing and left me wanting more. Actually kinda excited to see where the DCU goes. Think I need ear plugs next time I do IMAX though, it was unbearably loud during some of the big action scenes.

If this is like a canon release from DC it only further cements the idea that this story from the movie is a direct analogous to Israel Palestine and I think that's pretty badass. If only we had a Hawkgirl to take out BB.

I said I was fine with it, they didn't have to put out a press release just for me.
