I just think “super scientist petty bitch who’s obsessive about his hatred of Superman” is quintessential Lex in all the right ways. Worked so well for me. (And shout out to Gunn using Krypto as an excuse to cathartically fuck Lex up in a way Superman wouldn’t, lol.)

Also, wonderful innovation for him to have such pretty eyes. Never would’ve guessed I could’ve wanted a cute Lex, but.

Peacemaker talking shit about Superman on DC's version of Fox News felt very much on-brand

 

loved MIB basically playing tucker carlson

 

I remember that I was made to feel bad being excited for the teaser trailer months ago by someone with minor life achievements acting like I was being ridiculous about it. Seeing the success this movie has had feels validating in light of that.

 

I got that for my son during a work trip to Anaheim.

 

I stand by it. You’re an adult. Dont rely on comic book movies to make you feel better. Grow up.

 

Anyway I went to see this last night and someone pulled the fire alarm with probably 15-20 minutes left and so I am leaving the thread again byeeeee

Man this rocked. I can’t believe how much they were able to fit in by the way they just dropped us right into the middle of the ongoing story. That entire last act was nuts - multiple enormous fights in a row that would’ve been the finale of any other movie. I’ve never been a Superman guy but really feel like the hero was done justice here, the amount of things to wrap up here felt insurmountable. Also just generally loved the aesthetic and colorization, everything felt so vibrant and engaging

 

Also something very satisfying about attack 1A being just a straight up punch in the face lol. Wish I remembered what command the crotch kick was. I have to imagine dudes in the 2000s would’ve left the theater going “12F!” and then ball tapping each other or whatever

 

Dug the hell out of this. Felt refreshing after a bunch of Marvel misfires.

 

Love how Cleveland is celebrating

 

He should play Pete in the sequel
