    I don’t like that Cinemark

It’s not as nice as Robinson, but it’s nearby and doesn’t give me bad experiences for the most part. Becomes nicer when you can get that row right behind the handicapped seating, so you can put your feet on that railing.

Can be annoying what they don’t get sometimes though. Happily surprised both Materialists and new Wes came here.

Not something I'd necessarily like to discuss tbh. It was because of Covid for awhile at the start but it's way more complicated than that, but that issue is subsiding and I think we're pretty close to going back and enjoying the movies in theatres.

I haven’t been in forever but last time I went you had to go to the concession stand to scan your tickets even if you bought them on the app or something like that? We waited like 15 minutes just to get our tickets scanned and we weren’t buying anything from the concession stand. That was forever ago though.

nah that's fair, obviously covid changed the culture around movie going a lot, just wasn't sure if it was pandemic related or just general "costs too damn much" ya know

There’s a ticket scan thing on the way into the theater hallway that’s rarely manned. My default is to give a half assed attempt to scan my ticket myself, shrug, and go in; never had trouble.

oh, for sure. We used to go almost every weekend pre-Covid, and the pandemic just caused a chain reaction of other things that we've had to work around. Mostly good now though!

if you book a ticket with amc a list and either don't cancel if you aren't going or don't get your ticket scanned, they will eventually get mad at you

For health or personal reasons its 100% fair.

But yea as someone with no kids and works from home, if I have time to kill afterwards I much rather go to a theater to watch something then continue to sit at home. Also great excuse to not look at my phone for 2 hours

For the folks on the last few pages who have talked about having their reservations, I encourage you to keep an open mind and consider giving the film a shot.

I think we were talking about how we want to book this as soon as we have a reservation open, which many of us cinema sickos will after this weekend.

It’s been a combination of things for me.

We found out we were pregnant on March 12, 2020. Daughter was born on November 20, 2020. So, COVID and having a new born kept us out of most public spaces for a long time.

And now, going to the movies means hiring a baby sitter. And honestly, there are hundreds of things I’d rather do with that precious time with my wife than sitting in a movie theatre.

Superman is important enough for me to make an exception.

But I’ll eventually have to go back more when my daughter is old enough to start wanting to see stuff right away.

Nice. I got a November 22, 2020 baby myself. What a great time it was to be in a hospital and have a tiny delicate gremlin to keep alive.

Delicate Gremlin is a stoner band name if I ever heard one. Probably because it makes me think of Orange Goblin.

I definitely should start self-identifying as a “delicate gremlin.”

this is so true. As a dad as well I usually only make it to the theaters when it lines up that I have a day off of work and my wife doesn’t and the kids are in daycare.
