    From BrooklynVegan:

After returning last year with two new songs and spilling the beans on stage that a new album was coming, Superheaven have officially announced their third album and first in ten years. It’s self-titled, and it arrives on April 18 via their new label home Blue Grape Music (also home to Code Orange, Gel, and more). The album was recorded and engineered by the band’s own Jake Clarke and Zack Robbins, and co-produced by longtime collaborator Will Yip, and it includes the just-released song “Cruel Times,” in addition to recent singles “Long Gone” and “Numb To What Is Real.”

The mix of post-hardcore, grunge, and shoegaze that Superheaven developed on their 2013 debut album Jar and further honed on 2015’s Ours Is Chrome owed a lot to various elements of the ’90s but Superheaven tied everything together in a way that was ahead of its time. The current “grungegaze” movement wouldn’t exist without them, and their slow-burning success is clear–they actually just landed their first gold record last week for 2013’s “Youngest Daughter,” a deep album cut on Jar that was never released as a single. On “Cruel Times” and the two previously-released songs, Superheaven effortlessly meet the moment by doing what they do best, and these new songs sound as fresh in 2025 as their first two albums did 10-12 years ago. The Britain Weyant-directed video for “Cruel Times” finds Superheaven performing inside of an old, empty house with some pretty elegant architecture, and you can check that out below.

Superheaven are also gearing up for a headlining spring tour that includes support from two of the newer heavy shoegaze bands that they helped pave the way for, Glare and Prize Horse, along with rising Bay Area hardcore band Spy. That tour kicks off at LDB Fest and hits NYC on May 20 at Brooklyn Steel.

Second single out today! Think I like it more than Long Gone. Jake sounds better than ever on vocals and the main riffs sounds like something that could've been on either of the first 2 records.

Not sure it was reported elsewhere but it'll be a self titled record.

    Let it run Supporter

My cousin’s cousin is in this band. For some reason, my grandmom (no relation to him, other side of their family) had his graduation photo on her fridge for the entirety of my childhood so I’d see him every night while I sat at the dinner table. Never listened to them much, I’ll check out the new stuff

I prayed for times like these.

Song is 10/10. Something you would have never heard on Jar or Ours Is Chrome.
