Maybe it's your understanding of the word universe. Arrow and the Flash exist in the same world, just different cities. Legends is also in the same world, but they travel through different time periods. It's still the same world. Supergirl is in a different dimension which is why Barry and Cisco used a portal to get there, same as in Supergirl season 1 crossover with the Flash.

I watch Supergirl, so I was ok with it, albeit slightly disappointed. My friend was mad, though ha.

You'll be disappointed thus far then if you are watching it for Stargirl.

Fair enough. Put this way it definitely makes sense.

They've said many times the crossover doesn't really start until flash. It pretty much happened EXACTLY as I thought it would on Supergirl.

  5. I'm just going off all the commercials that advertised the "4-night crossover event"

Yep. I don't watch any of The CW shows on TV so I haven't seen the commercials so I was basing it off of the 4 images they released and the fact that they were hyping it as a crossover event.

Either way this episode was good, glad to see Lena go against her mother.

  7. I liked that too. Glad the show filled the void left by Cat Grant with another good female/ceo character, even though their roles are different. I was a little disappointed that J'onn's white martian issue got resolved that quickly. I thought that was going to be a bigger deal.

EDIT: I'm realizing you just said you don't watch the CW shows, so you don't care about this stuff haha.

I would like more Eliza Danvers this season please. Agree that it's nice to see what they did with Lena. I was pissed at first but it worked out by the end of the episode haha.

No I do watch just not live on TV is what I meant. I tend to stream it next day through The CW App and it doesn't show the same type of commercials

Halfway through episode 1 (Flash), and you're gonna want to watch it. A lot of character conflicts on Flash are coming to a head. You can skip Supergirl if you're just trying to watch the crossover. (Though the show is awesome so if you do watch it over winter break, you'll be very happy). And if you're just interested in Legends for Stargirl, you're gonna be disappointed. She's just a cameo at best. The show is good besides but don't get your hopes up for that character

Thought I'd continue this in here and not blow up the Spiderman thread.

My wife watches, so I've watched a few episodes that were recommended. The flash crossover was my first ep, and alright it was fun seeing them together (the ice cream part) and I cannot believe how cool silver banshee looked for tv, it was still horribly written and acted. It can be passed off as cheesy and lighthearted, but to me I just can't get into it. Fight scenes are one thing that I've never enjoyed with what I've seen which would be a saving grace for me.

Also saw the adaption of For the Man Who Has Everything and that was probably the best out of the ones I've seen. Then for this season I had to watch the "holy shit, Superman and Martian Man Hunter fight Metallo". How could I not as a DC fan? Again, the fight was just boring though. I forgot what Supergirl and her sister were doing at the time, fighting a robot?

To be fair, I've had to give up on all the CW shows though. Out of all the stuff I have to do, kids and wife I've had to scale back my tv :tear: I have a friend who loves this stuff like you guys though who keeps me updated, and him explaining the episodes always sound so much more fun and awesome than they actually play out so I'm good. I'll always be thankful that we got Arrow seasons 1 and 2 and Flash season 1 (and half of 2). Those were amazing.

I can see Supergirl not being for everyone, but saying that Melissa Benoist doesn't kill it in her role as Kara is blasphemy to me. Even during the series' slow beginnings, I still loved seeing her do her thing in the lead role. She's hands down my favorite comic book television series casting.

Sucks that you've had to stop watching all that stuff, but oh well. There's an embarrassment of riches when it comes to comic book television right now. I'm excited for Legion on FX.

Even better than Barry? I think Grant kills it. From what I've seen she is fine as supergirl but seems to just get bossed around from everyone and esp by Ally McBeal. To be fair I haven't spent enough time with it to really judge her performance though, esp when I've only dropped into random eps. So excited for Legion though too. Xmen are my favorite comic group, I just hope its good.

Was Winn wearing a Captain America shirt?

And any theories on why they didn't want to harm Mon-El? And who the Kylo Ren looking ladies were?

  21. Warming up to Mon-El's character. Enjoying the conflict between Kara and her boss, he's been a good addition. Winn was great too. Didn't notice his shirt..

I don't really understand Kara's refusal to accept James doing the whole Guardian thing. It's such a pointless source of tension and really out of character for her. Kara is easily the best lead for a comic book show right now, so I hope this angle doesn't get stretched out too long.

Also, I really want Mon-El to get a costume soon, lol.

This week's episode was really good in regards to both action and character moments. So much to love.

Besides Kara being inexplicably anti-Guardian, this whole season has been flawless. Lots going on, but everything has fit together into a strong thematic whole. Each aspect of the season has been given just enough attention at just the right time, still leaving lots of time to breath. Hopefully next time last week's Guardian conflict comes up, it's to resolve it so that it doesn't weight down an otherwise delightful season.

  25. Definite homage to The Thing in this episode haha. At least Kara is somewhat coming around to the whole Guardian thing after that last convo with Winn.
