Looks like a slight redesign on her suit vs the one in Superman.

He may not be the greatest filmmaker or the most clever comedy writer but Gunn (and his influence over the tone and marketing of the emerging DCU) knows how to cut through the noise of movie making and production and deliver fun. I wish Marvel took his approach to just doing what is clear and fun while letting each director do their thing because so much of what is in Marvel movies/shows these days is the unfun, obligatory parts of production and creation.

Guess Lex Luthor got the white-collar <jail treatment> after Superman (2025)

I don’t care for the comic this is taking most of its inspiration from, but I’m still pretty excited to see this. Milly Alcock seems like she’ll be a pretty fun Supergirl.

I quit reading WoT around the halfway point and haven’t returned yet. Probably will sometime next year?

Some very pretty Bilquis Evely art, and some of the story hook is solid, but it just feels so overwritten. Tom King’s narration is such a fucking slog to get through, lol, like girl, shut up.

Hopefully Ana Nogueira and Craig Gillespie made the movie work better. Really dig the few Gillespie films I’ve seen.

I might try reading through that Supergirl run over the next week or two and see how I feel about it. I've never read a Supergirl comic in general, but am curious for the upcoming film

  21. I liked Tom King's Batman run but I'm in the minority I think. I don't mind his verboseness. So I am excited.

    Boooooo.

My hangup with the comic is the scripting more than the plotting. And, I think 3-4 issues (forget the exact place I paused) is enough pages to have a take, lol. I was just talking to a couple people recently who liked the comic a lot more than I did, and they generally agreed that the narration dragged; one of ‘em said he had to start skimming/skipping a lot of it.

I’m hit or miss on that run, but what I’ve read of it (up until shortly before the “wedding,” plus a couple other stray issues) is better than the half of WoT I’ve read, imo.

The most I’ve liked a King comic is Mister Miracle, and I think some of that is Tom’s synergy with Mitch Gerads leading to less text. His scripting doesn’t have the life that, say, Chris Claremont’s does, so I like him best when he’s comfortable pulling way back and letting the art tell the story.
