If you guys want me to keep posting competitive stuff I’m always down for that.

 

I got my kirby to 2 mil like three times but then I keep going and getting destroyed and knocked all the way back down. After like two hours I finally got back to 2 mil and just turned the game off. Online with even a little bit of lag is mad frustrating.

 

This is what the Smash Bros subreddit is good for. Comments are often a mess but there should be organized threads with streams and brackets for the bigger events.

I recommend the Melee documentary if anyone hasn't seen it, its addicting and also a mess at times but really lays the groundwork for how the competitive scene became what it is now.

 

Man that last match was disappointing. First four were amazing tho

 

yup. was so excited for Kofi in the end there but he just lost it.

 

My DLC characters speculation:

- An ARMS Character
- Something Dark Souls, maybe Chosen Undead?
- A new gen Pokemon in time for Pokemon
- XC2’s Rex?
- Something from Level 5?
- Dragon Quest?

 

Based on the first reveal (and previous Smash DLC characters), wouldn’t they try and go for more third party? Or at least characters more famous than the ARMS roster (I’d be so happy to get Ribbon Girl or Minmin though).

- I really feel like Tracer is getting in. Her skillset seems like a good fit for Smash.
- new gen Pokemon sounds reasonable but it feels like something they would give away for free
- Rex with Pyra/blades sounds interesting
- Crash is still a strong contender for me
- something from Capcom, like a Resident Evil character (Nemesis) or someone from DMC.
- if they get someone not normally on a Nintendo platform like Drake or Kratos or Lara or Geralt, or a character from a Valve game this would really surprise me

I have no solid arguments for any of these, and I won’t even try to defend them. It’s just fun for me to think about the possibilities.

 

I feel like there's a good chance Sora could be one of them

Edit: I'd love to see an Overwatch character for sure

 

recommend the documentary too if you're interested. I watched it just before Ultimate came out because my co-worker told me about it, turns out he was a part of NYC crew. some of his stories of early tournaments are pretty wild. we played together once and it was a blood bath.

 

DLC guesses: Minecraft Steve, Madeline from Celeste, Tracer, Banjo Kazooie the drea

 

Since Nintendo selected the DLC, instead of Sakurai, I’m expecting only characters from big/iconic franchises.

I really want Banjo and Spyro. Steve from Minecraft has been rumored so much that I believe something from Minecraft will definitely be added.

 

The only thing every Smash Bros character ever has in common is that they all originated from Japanese franchises. I think if any characters are gonna break that trend, it’ll be Banjo Kazooie and Crash.

 

I think the complete disregard for Shantae makes something like a Celeste somewhat unlikely.

Crash I douubt because Activision. Banjo or Steve I could definitely see.

 

Celeste is my last hope for an indie game getting in, agree it’s the most long shot but it’d just be a cool game to highlight.

Joker being the first makes me think they’re not that focused on well known franchises, but there’s so many options I have no idea what they’ll do.

What i’d love is bonus DLC echo fighters included with new characters, I feel like it’d be an easy surprise to add on.

 

On Joker: Persona, SMT etc. are very big in Japan. That’s what this team’s frame of reference mostly is I think.

 

Is Bomberman an assist trophy? If not I could see that

World of Light grind is getting slightly better now that i've got some characters I dig like Simon and Lucario, but I still want Link and Mega Man.

 

I just got into the dark world of WOL and I'm just ready for it to end

I’d rather drink bleach (exception: toad)

 

Toad/ Toadette would be sweet.

Banjo-Kazooie is still my top pick. They just seem perfect for Smash.
