Goku would feel too out of place, like if they were to add Master Chief

One idea that I don't think I've ever seen thrown out: Baby Mario and Luigi. And they could be a team like Ice Climbers

 

We need fewer characters like ICs, not more.

May God help us.

 

They don’t have to be like IC but it’s an option and they should be added anyway.

 

I’d want paper Mario if we’re doing another Mario character

But piranha might be it and I’m fine with that

 

That's because Geno was a wonderfully designed character and has (what would be) a really fun, unique and awesome moveset. He is more deserving than 90% of the suggestions I see like Sora or Goku or some crap that just seems unnecessary.

I'd also really like a character from Paper Mario so we get some acknowledgement that franchise is coming back or something. Or a character from ARMS or Wonderful 101.

 

Geno and Sora seem fun. Goku, as stated, would be dumb. I'm surprised that we didn't get an ARMS character for more than an Assist trophy. given that we're getting an Inkling for Splatoon representation, thouoght Nintendo would give more platform for their other new IP

 

Yeah was really surprised ARMS got shafted into assist trophies, maybe they have a different character in mind from that game for DLC but would've though Spring Man was a shoe-in

 

Ultimate was too far along in development by the time ARMS came out for a character to be included, but I’d be amazed if we didn’t get one as DLC.

 

I really don't think they would feel anymore out of place than Snake does (which I don't really thing feels out of place).

 

If Arms was getting in they’d be in, assist trophy seems to be all they’re gonna get

 

I want Ribbon Girl as DLC. The arm length and different arm types have massive Smash potential and Ribbon Girl could glide like Peach which would be a interesting wrinkle.

 

That's exactly what I'm thinking as well. It just seems like a giant snub to a new and promising franchise to not put them front and center.

 

Would prefer pretty much any ARMS character besides Spring Man. Almost literally every character has a much more interesting design/concept

Got my first pro controller yesterday. Ready for this. :)

 

I ordered a gamecube adapter and controller that will arrive before Friday. I'm going to primarily use the Switch controllers but the gamecube will be good for multiplayer. Now way am I playing this game with one joy-con.

 

I actually think this game will play pretty well on joycons. Way better than Wii-motes anyway, which had all the buttons in weird places and only a d-pad. The only thing that might be rough here is L/R for shield and dodge, but I bet I could remap that to x or y and be fine.

Of course the joycons are too small/uncomfortable for some people and that’s valid.

 

A single joycon will be a nightmare but imagine the double joy cons with the grip should be okay.

 

Most of my friends have switches so should have no problem with a lack of controllers, double joycon seems like it'll be fine. Will definitely be using my pro though lol

This works in handheld mode, right? That’s how I play the switch 95% of the time.
