i used to manage an indie game shop for a couple of years and on Thursday nights the owner would come in and host “Fight Nights” where like 90% of people played Smash and 10% of people played Tekken/Street Fighter/Blazblue. it was the most toxic group of people ever haha. hope your scene is better.

 

i’m also the type of person that never ever ever turns off items though so i’m prob just a filthy casual

 

Same. I know some people that only play final destination with no items but like the interesting stages and items are what make the game special to me

Items off ALWAYS. Personally my friend group just finds that way more fun (we’re a very competitive group). I’ve become so accustomed to playing that way that I forget the gigantic casual fan base typically plays with items and the silly stages and smash balls and all that.

 

Items on, I have way more fun that way

Don't wanna boast but barring maybe like 1 or 2 people I'm significantly better than most of my friend group at smash so I have to add the training wheels on when there's a few of us
