Also Sakurai: "Here's 8 in 2 months and there's more coming later."

The point, of course, is we can't trust anything this man says.

 

Sakurai doesn’t want to get our hopes up until the time is ready.

 

Simon and King K. Rool being playable is something I've wanted since Brawl. Dracula's Castle looks cool too.

 

Still no John cena. Smdh

 

Simon's outfit is pretty ugly, but I'm excited for him to be included.

I don’t play with GC controller but I think I want this.

The direct was really, really good. Not really a surprise that the music player is back, but I’m glad it’s confirmed. 800 tracks and you can listen to them while in sleep mode jesuuuus

Also Moon and Rathalos being an assist trophy made me laugh so hard. Cool to see Shovel Knight in there as well.

 

And the new game modes!!!! Too many stuff happened.

 

Dark Samus looks absolutely amazing, but I will say I'm disappointed she's (it's?) an echo of Samus 'cause that necessarily means she's gonna be total garbage. Game's not even out and she's already bottom tier.

 

I'm still trying to imagine how they are even going to balance all these characters out because such a big roster

I wonder if that hidden mode on the main menu was like a subspace emissary mode..

 

That's what I'm thinking too. It would definitely be cool if it was like a story mode again.

 

When I first saw the reveal video i really thought they were about to give the middle finger to the K rool crowd

 

I love how, in these character reveal trailers, they've shown Megaman, Mario and Luigi all literally die lol

 

i wonder where Nintendo makes the distinction of who to make a new fighter and who to make an assist trophy.
Shovel Knight, Krystal, and Waluigi get assist trophies, those Castlevania dudes, King K. Rool, and Ridley got to be fighters; wonder what's the criteria they consider in who gets included

 

Different developers pitch different characters to Sakurai, and then those developers get into an MMA cage and beat the piss out of each other. First one to knock the other one out twice within 6 minutes gets their character in Smash.

If, however, neither combatant has earned two KOs by the 6 minute mark, it then turns into a fight to the death.
