Lol I am not remotely suggesting that any of these characters shouldn't be in the games. I'm actually agreeing with you that it's silly to think Nintendo wouldn't do something like bringing in Geno

Everyone wants new characters, but are there enough options to make the characters diverse enough? I already feel like there are a few of the same characters with different skins, but nothing other than appearance dividing them.

If we are going to add more, my contribution to the list is the Panda Boarder from 1080.

 

I hope we get Tails, and he gets nine different colours, and the ninth Tails colour is Ninetales coloured.

 

My character choices are jokes 95% of the time, but yes, they have enough characters in the Nintendo library to make them diverse enough and if they wanted to branch out to more third party stuff they could do that as well since it's just more money and representation for other companies whose franchises are otherwise sitting idle and aren't making profit.

 

I mean diverse enough as far as move sets go - the clones/semi-clones. There certainly are a diverse array of characters to choose from, Nintendo has a huge library to pull, but can they come up with enough creativity in play style to support such a vast cast?

 

Also yes. If they managed to give Duckhunt, Pac-Man, Wii Fit Trainer, ROB, Villager, etc such unique sets, I think they could do it with others.

 

The last game already had them giving characters additional movesets that you could choose between. I think they’ll be fine

 

It’s worth noting the difference between conceptualizing a character and actually implementing them. Clones/echoes are substantially less resource-intensive. If these certain characters weren’t in as clones, they likely wouldn’t be in at all.

How can you disagree with the first part but not the second part when the first part is what substantiates the second part? Unless you think the Smash dev team is just pissing around and isn’t making certain characters unique out of, I don’t know, spite/boredom/intense desire to troll their consumer base?

I just re-read your comment and I actually misunderstood it. I apologize. I thought you were referring to future characters wouldn't be added unless they were clones for some reason considering we were talking about new entries. Sorry about that.
