If it ain't Geno, it don't matter

 

Waluigi totally doesn’t deserve to be in Smash, but this secondary character with one appearance two decades ago absolutely does.

 

It's all about proper representation. Waluigi is already in the game.

 

Surely I didn’t need to qualify my post with “as a playable character”.

 

I legitimately don't understand why people want him as a playable character. I don't. I'm not trying to be difficult. It just doesn't make sense to me.

 

I couldn’t personally give a shit about him; I’m just saying I think you have odd, inconsistent standards.

 

No? He serves no purpose. It's just like if they wanted to add another Fire Emblem character. That game has enough representation. I've said it before games that have little or no representation should be have more focus with new characters. If absurdities like ROB, Ice Climbers, Ike, etc get characters, franchises like ARMs, Wonderful 101, etc should get some sort of entries.

 

I think Mario is an outlier in this respect considering it’s arguably the most iconic video game franchise in history.

And Geno is a Mario character. Wouldn’t that disqualify him by your criteria?

I don’t know who Geno is and I never played his one game and if he gets in over Paper Mario they fucked up

I'd like someone from the Paper Mario series, but just because you haven't played the game doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Especially since you know, the three people who played the original Kid Icarus got a new game and entry in Smash.

 

Paper Mario = 2 really good games and like 5 total

Your "logic" doesn't add up. I also never said he had a chance. Geno is from a beloved game that is what started the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi RPG franchises. People have fond memories of that game and it's still highly regarded. Just because you haven't played it or heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Even Nintendo made a post about the game on their Twitter recently to celebrate the game's anniversary.

You just seem to want to be right for some arbitrary reason and as someone who used to be the same way and tries really hard not to be I'd like to say one thing to you: stop. It's really frustrating.

 

Nintendo Direct coming on Wednesday, 10 AM EST, and it looks to be a Smash-centric one.

I hope they at least mention the Luigi’s Mansion release date

It's funny to me that people think a character can't be added just because they aren't so popular. Did you forget about Mr. Game and Watch, and R.O.B?
