Well, it was a PS3 and PS Vita exclusive that had a concept very similar to SSB except the way you scored points was by eliminating people with your specials. There were three levels of specials and each one was more deadly than the one before it. It featured characters like Jak, Ratchet & Clank, Nathan Drake, Kat from Gravity Rush and a bunch more.

I was part of the social media marketing department which is probably why you never heard of it.

I was completely out of the gaming scene between like 2011 and 2016. So don't take it personally dude.

Hey I played it for at least a month or two before I realized it sucked!

Jk it was actually really fun for that small period of time.

 

Let's be real, while the game was a lot of fun and had a ton of potential, the horrible UI, dreadful load times, weak online and terrible marketing were its downfall.

I truly believe it could have been something special if they tried harder to distinguish itself from SSB. The idea of fighting Kratos with Nathan Drake and then having Parappa come in and steal the kills was pretty cool.

 

I actually think I would’ve liked it better if it was closer to SBB lol. I hated that the only way you could kill was through the specials. But I’m also someone who abhors the Smash Ball too so I’m sure a lot of people liked that way of getting kills.

 

A gamecube exclusive side scroller fighter with really awesome slow motion mechanics and great gameplay. It was pretty challenging in parts, but a ton of fun. I super recommend it if you can find it. Not sure if it's on the virtual console.

Anyone let me know if I didn't describe it correctly.

 

I thought it was nicely done in PASBR because you had to know how to trick people because anyone who was good at the game could easily out maneuver your specials.

 

I remember specifically liking Drakes level 1 special. On the cargo ship level it was so easy to rack up the lvl 1 in those close quarters and then pretty much immediately get a 2-3 person kill before he stage changes.

 

Man, now I really want to play that game...

 

If I still had my ps3 I would play it with ya. But I got rid of that damn console and never looked back. “Oh I love Kingdom Hearts, I NEED to get a ps3!” - Me in 2007. F U Square Enix.

 

I haven't beaten any of the KH games. I got halfway through the first. I enjoyed it a lot, but there was so much other stuff to play.

Also, why haven't I seen any crossover games with KH characters?

Exactly how many characters have been announced? Is it enough to make equal rows? Could give us a tentative idea for how many more announcements/dlc characters to expect.

Actually did they resize the selection rows when dlc for 4 came out? I don’t actually remember.

 

Man, I've been saying this for years. I can barely stomach Sonic and Pac Man in these games... and now there are motherfuckers calling for Spyro? That about as D list of a video game character there is.

 

I get not wanting 3rd party characters, but in what possible world is Spyro a D-lister?

For those who missed it, Japan held their own Smash U event a day or so ago, and the shit went on for over 5 hours. Someone streamed the stream, so there's a ton more content right there. Lot of 1v1s too, though I think it does all feature items unfortunately.

 

Masahiro Sakurai was met with dead silence when he told the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate development team that he wanted to bring back every character

Need more people with his passion to be honest.

I think the problem is the joke drags on way too long.
