I think I was fairly low at like 112

 

Okay good. I have 110 and I was worried lol

 

No idea, but I finished the game with around 200. I've been going through now and collecting purple coins (and moons if I see them). I def not going to max my moons in this, just way too many.

 

I can’t believe I have 700 moons and there’s still so many left

 

All I have are bound races (fuck those), volleys, jump ropes, and dark side moons. Holy shit

 

I wasn't going to get this until I 100'd zelda, so I finally picked it up yesterday. Someone earlier in the thread asked about the hint toad, but no one responded. Does the hint toad run out of hints when there are no more moons accessible at the time? When more moons are available, does the hint toad come back with more hints? I can't find anymore in the world with the t-rex, and I was wondering if the hint toad might be a way to confirm that I've done all I can for now...

 

I've haven't used a lot of the hint Toad yet so I can't answer that point but you can also check your moon count per level by going to the list of moons (press minus, then Y).

 

Have you beat the game yet? You'll get more moons after you beat it.

 

And also yes, don't worry about getting all the moons right away - more open up when you finish the main storyline on each level and then more again after you beat the game.

 

I haven't beaten the game yet, but I get that I'll be able to access more later on, and how I can check my progress. I was more just wondering if the hint toad could serve as a method of confirming that I've gotten everything I can at this point.

 

Yeah, I'm not sure. I do know if you get all the moons he'll tell you he can't help you anymore. But that's after looking at the list and also having 100%.

 

I'm so bad at the face reconstruction challenges. The second Goomba one in Cloud Kingdom will probably the be the thing that keeps me from 100%-ing this game.

 

What!? What do you find challenging? I got 89 both times.

 

For whatever reason I'm bad at keeping where I put the first couple pieces I place in my head, so once those disappear I get just enough overlapping pieces to fail. I guess I could take a screenshot and work off of that or something.

 

There's a few loose grid lines that I use, one lines up with the corner of his mouth, and then the brows are mostly centered, just look where they meet the outside of the head.

 

Despite having logged many hours, I just now discovered that you can capture a piranha plant

You can capture a piranha plant??? I've played 50 hours and don't know this.

 

I just saw it on reddit and face palmed

You feed it a rock and then you can capture it so it doesn't just eat cappy

 

Honestly if they make some sort of virtual console available switch will be the best console ever.

 

Saw that reddit video too and had no idea, felt real dumb.

 

It’s amazing the media has let them off the hook so much on the VC and how little we’ve heard. It’s been a staple of every console for the past 13 years. Nintendo is lucky that they’ve had a few smash hits on switch, otherwise the pressure would be insane about not having a vc yet.

 

can't say I'm overly bothered by lack of VC, the eshop is already packed with good titles and it doesn't seem like it'll be slowing down anytime soon

am praying for ports of both Galaxy 1& 2 and Sunshine tho

 

Sounds like great games to throw into a vc ;)

 

How do you jump up or sideways from a power line? I reach these points in the game where it's clear there's a Mario move I've been missing. Also, how does anyone get over 100 in the jump rope game? It goes so fast after 40!
