Diary 30th anniversary tour and live album out May 3

So it's one new song and then the Diary re-recording? No new album :(

I mean ill take what I can get

 

I'll take what I can get too, but I really don't feel the need to get a re-recording of anything they'd done before their reunion as long as they still have one unfinished album in the chamber

 

I was told the re-recorded Diary was going to include 2 new songs. But maybe my buddy was misinformed about that. The new song's great though.

 

Wasnt there another new/unreleased song they were playing on the last tour too?

 

they played this new song on the 2009 reunion tour, only one other than Lipton Witch

 

a live rerecording of diary is actually really interesting to me because jeremy's voice is totally shot on the studio album

 

yeah i was just reading in the 15th anniversary liner notes about how they really had to work to get his voice to do anything when they recorded it

 

Same here, I've just bought that edition, but well - they did a great job

 

Actually very excited about all of this and will definitely be at the Seattle date

 

i couldn’t see them last year and it was devastating so i’m thrilled

As a casual fan, I've always wondered why it literally sounds like they got a different vocalist starting on How It Feels. What was going on with him for Diary/LP2?

 

Diary was recorded right after they did their first really big tour, so part of it was that his voice was really shot from that. Jeremy was also just young, 19 years old, when Diary was recorded and his voice was still changing

 

I'll listen to it for sure but Jeremy's voice being raw as hell is what makes Diary so special imo, can't really imagine it any other way

 

Can anyone point me in the direction of where to find non album SDRE songs?

 

Lipton Witch is not on streaming for some reason. Not sure where you can get it, but I'm sure it's out there. I have it. That's the only non-album song I'm aware of.

 

there's also some very early songs like Flatland Spider and The Onlies, a couple Rising Tied b-sides like Eye of the Storm and some demos floating around

 

yeah idk why lipton witch isn't on streaming anymore but it is still on youtube

also just got tickets for philly :)
