Has there been any mention by the band why they are breaking up? I'm assuming it must be Deryck's health issues.

 

I don’t think it has anything to do with that. Until this recent episode, Deryck had been doing very well for a long while, and the breakup was announced well before this.

He has said how much he enjoyed writing the pop punk stuff for this record.

I mean it's not a secret from the last two records – and the ones before that – that he prefers the heavier stuff. And then they did a AKNF tour where they abandoned the concept all of two shows in. I'm surprised there's any pop-punk stuff at all on this album. Maybe as a final sendoff it makes sense, but it's surprising still.

I’m very happy with that. I love both sides of this band but it’s been a minute since they have had a lighter/up beat sound. I think I’m in a minority in the fact I loved UH.
