My first show was either in 2011 or 2012 in Prague.Screaming Bloody Murder tour and yea I was kinda disappointed tbh…Deryck looked like mess and you could tell Steve HATED to be there. then I saw them maybe like 6 more times after they got back together with Dave and Deryck’s rehab and to this day I always saying it’s the one of the greatest show anyone can go to. my favorite was No Personal Space tour in 2019 when they played at tiny Brighton Music Hall in Boston. That was hands down the absolutely best show of my life and childhood dream tht came true.
Over It had such a great run that was cut too short imo. I wish Peter Munters would have formed a new band beyond his sparse one-off features and solo releases since 2006.
Wouldn’t it be really funny if after this breakup they’d immediately come back as Pain For Pleasure pls God
I do hope Steve shows up for the last show, just to do his vocals on fat lip and pain for pleasure. Let the current drummer stay though
Would be cool to hear a little more from Steve’s side about why he hung it up. Has he given any interviews since leaving the band? We can infer what happened but at this point, it’s gotta be water under the bridge.
im sure he had valid reasons for leaving given how deryck was at the time, but when deryck had his near death experience, it seems steve wasn’t able to out everything aside and be there to support him. I think that really bothered deryck. Obviously things could still change, but im not so sure they are on good terms right now. Could be totally wrong though.
Deryck. He sold his publishing, too: Sum 41's Deryck Whibley Has Sold His Publishing Catalog There won't be any Pain for Pleasure or anything after Sum.
The offspring/simple plan/sum tour is now over so hopefully we get that farewell tour/ double album info soon!
Didn’t Tom DeLonge sell his publishing like 3 years ago? I don’t think that really means anything. They’ll be back someday
Yeah, Tom sold his publishing as well, but this one feels different – from the timing of it to the announcement. Sum will be back for sure, but Deryck alone will control when that happens.
He’s played a few shows with the Vandals recently, and has been playing drum covers on his IG, but outside of that I have no idea what he’s been up to or his relationship with the rest of the band
