Feels out of left field with a double album release coming up. Statement/timing also kind of feels rushed/urgent.. But very much just reading into things. Bummer.

 

"We wanted you to hear from us first" makes me go "oh?"

 

I wonder if the marketing for Heaven X Hell will tie into the break up. “Where will Sum 41 go?”

 

Gonna have do a discography run soon.

 

I completely glossed over that line the first time I read the statement… that is very strange and makes it feel like there is more to it than a simple breakup.

 

I guess today's a better time than ever to finally listen to Chuck for the first time.

 

Would love to hear your thoughts. Probably their best album overall.

 

Another reason this is so weird is the release of that rolling stone article last year.

Part of me is sad about this while another part of me is kind of meh since it's been awhile since their glory days. I've enjoyed the last few albums well enough but nothing sticks with me the way everything up until Chuck still does.

This sucks but at least they are going out on a double album & a tour.

 

I am pretty gutted about this. Kind of a staple "i'll see them if they are in town" band.

I mean I wouldn't freak out too much. Guaranteed they will continue to play festivals and various one offs and anniversary tours after like two-three years off

 

This is one of the bands from the scene I never thought would break up. Damn.

 

I loved Does This Look Infected, Chuck and Underclass Hero.

a lot I liked on Screaming Bloody Murder but could never get into anything they released after that, albeit, outside of listening once or twice to their last few albums, I never really gave them a chance.

Somehow, I have never seen them live. If farewell tour comes around me, I’d definitely make a point to go.
