I think SBM is going to forever be the low point for their career, but I’d personally take it over any of the post-Chuck albums. It’s long, has weird songs that don’t fit, but the key songs are some of my favorites from their discography. SBM and Jessica Kill specifically I think are the best songs they’ve released since Chuck.
I think the band will do great with any style they choose to do (even though they seem to prefer the heavier stuff).
I love Underclass Hero. Probably my second favorite album after Chuck. But I like their post-UH albums better than their pre-DTLI material.
I feel like it might be a little, but he has sounded pretty great overall in other live performances of the song.
Finally found the video/interview where Brownsound says he wished he never left the band when he heard Screaming Bloody Murder. watch
Not a popular opinion on this site but SBM is most likely my favorite Sum 41 record. If not, it’s definitely tied with Chuck then.
Never got the hate for SBM either. Time For You to Go and Baby You Don't Wanna Know are weak and don't fit the album but the rest of it is great imo, it's my third favorite by them
I've just been listening to these guys. I really can't get into the last two albums apart from the singles from them for some reason. Then I listened to Underclass Hero and oh my god, I can't get over how nostalgic it feels. Totally agree that some songs sound like other bands, but they are all so so so catchy! Walking Disaster is a very underrated single
