Looks about right. Can't wait for this. I'm glad you decided not to include cover songs and feature songs!
If cover songs counted, their Metallica melody from MTV's Metallica Icon special would take the whole bracket..... and maybe even take other bands brackets in future. Don't ask me how that would happen, it just would.
Right? As a KoRn fan, I was so disappointed when they stopped One before the solo. Then again....as a KoRn fan, I know they can't do a solo haha. Did Avril Lavigne's band not do the solo for Fuel? I can't remember...
I don't think they did but it's been a long time since I've watched anything other than Sum's performance.
They would maybe one of the best Metallica cover bands, but as far as song writing goes, Metallica still takes it. Sum's love letter to Metallica, The Bitter End, isn't as good as almost any non St Anger Metallica song.
Personally I prefer Sum 41 over Metallica. I don't dislike Metallica, but they're not the kind of band I'd listen to for an extended period of time.
Just kidding They are honestly two completely different kind of bands except a few moments in some songs on Chuck and any time Sum covers Metallica
Metallica should have Sum 41 open some upcoming shows...specifically the February 1st show in Cleveland :)
As someone going to see Metallica on their next tour......I would lose my mind if Sum 41 went with them. Have they announced their openers yet?
Alright peeps it's time for some bside action ! We're The Same and Subject To Change have received first round byes. Here are your first round match ups ! Take A Look At Yourself vs What Were All About This Goodbye vs Noots Look At Me vs WWVII Parts 1&2 Always vs Reign In Pain Moron vs Black Eyes Better Days vs No Apologies
Take A Look At Yourself Noots Look At Me Always Black Eyes No Apologies I know they have a lot of quality/popular b-sides, but "Always" is going to be my dark horse to win.
What Were All About Noots WWVII Parts 1&2 Always (This was tough because I love both pretty much the same). Black Eyes Better Days
I watched the whole thing again last night since we talked about it. Honestly, everyone but Snoop Dogg did a pretty good job. Even Limp Bizkit's Welcome Home cover was pretty good. Sum 41 was the best for sure though. Avril's guitarist did do the solo to Fuel btw, her whole band was pretty good but her vocals were pretty awful.
-Take A Look At Yourself -Noots -WWVII Parts 1&2 -Always (man, this song is a jam!) -Moron -No Apologies
