My worst fear was choosing between BYDWK and Time For You To Go, as they're my favourites (not including Reason to Believe), and I'm so glad Deryck made sure these went on the release. As I said, most difficult round for me. This is an album where I have to listen to it always in its entirety -- Deryck has said the same thing. Also, little fun fact: on this albums release day, I ended up listening to it for 8 hours straight continuously. It still holds up as my favourite album of The Sums.

 

you are honestly the first person i know to like those 2 songs. honestly, they aren't terrible songs, but they dont fit with the rest of the album.

Back Where I Belong is so underrated.

 

I wouldn't vote for A Dark Road Out of Hell anyway, haha.

Yeah, I like Jessica Kill, but Blood in My Eyes is the better of the two.

This is my least favorite album of theirs. It's dark, but it lacks the heaviness of 13 Voices and Chuck. It's just somewhere in the middle of everything, and not in a good way. A couple of boring songs on here as well. I'd say the first 4-5 tracks plus Blood in My Eyes are the best songs. I also love the riff near the end of Back Where I Belong.

 

All the bold makes me sad lol. I do love Blood in my Eyes and Back Where I Belong so I can't argue.

Jessica Kills is a top 5 Sum song for me though, its sooooo catchy and that bridge is great. Was expecting it to get more love on here, but I guess I'll walk down that lonely road (Green Day reference because of Time for you to Go and BYDWK )

 

Baby You Don't Wanna Know and Time For You to Go are in my favorites here, but they don't belong on this album.

 

Actually, I am well aware of this, and was waiting for someone to point it out, haha! I just think they'e fun, garage rock style tracks.

 

I think those songs are in Deryck's wheel house. I love how much of a rock star he comes off in them.

 

OK, time to listen to this album for the second time, and for the first time since 2011.

On my 2nd listen through this morning of SBM because I need to see what I am missing with Jessica Kills since it has so few votes, and yeah I agree they aren't bad songs at all.

I do remember thinking "man, these songs sound like they belong on Green Days 21st Century Breakdown" and that was probably a turn off, esp since the rest of the album reminded me of Chuck, which had me so pumped on this album since Underclass wasn't what I wanted at the time as a follow up.

oh yeah for sure. i think they might even fit better on 13 Voices than Screaming Bloody Murder though.
