Really excited to hear what Brown Sound beings back to the group, even if it was recorded remotely, much like blink's Neighborhoods.
Oh fuck yes! All of my favorite bands are now at Hopeless! NFG, Bayside, Sum 41, come on SYG and that'll be the last of em.
Submitted this. The last time I got excited for a Sum 41 record was during my second year of high school.
Pretty much. Between their roster and their great distribution- I'd say so. Huge signing for both parties.
I know the name Sum 41 on the surface sounds huge, but did their last few records sell well? I guess this is a long-winded way of asking, what should we expect in terms of sales numbers, first week or in total with this record?
I don't believe the last 2 did that great but I think the press around this album with Brownsound back, Deryk's sobriety story, etc. this will likely do better, even if it's based on nostalgia.
Those are good points about Brownsound and sobriety. There is a much more positive energy surrounding this band this time around. I remember a lot of the UH campaign centered around Myspace haha. I don't remember SBM too well. 2011, that was definitely when dance and EDM was taking over, so the label may not have backed that album too hard.
Really excited for this! Right on the heels of Moose Blood and Emarosa too...Hopeless continues to be the best.
Wow, did not expect that. And Screaming Bloody Murder didn't sell that great, but Underclass Hero did. Topped out at #7 in the US.
This is pretty great. Didn't care for Underclass Hero or Screaming Bloody Murder, but DTLI and Chuck are two really great albums.
I'm hoping this album will be a million times better than SBM (I'm sorry, but I didn't really like that album). Also hoping we can snag a single or two soon =D
