Apparently a lot of people don't like the filter on Deryck's voice in Catching Fire? I think it makes a lot of sense for the song thematically and makes the chorus feel a lot more cathartic/impactful
Does anyone know if there will be a Japanese exclusive CD? It usually has more bonus tracks than US exclusive or deluxe versions.
I believe the only bonus tracks on offer this time are acoustic tracks but I'll happily be proven wrong.
This is going to sound dumb, but what filter? I mean, I can hear his voice sounds different than on other songs, but what is it specifically? Personally I love it though.
definitely hear the Muse part! I think Catching Fire is one of the best songs they've ever done, and could be a huge hit if it ends up going their way ...
Was thinking that this morning. The beginning of the song kinda gives me Macy's Day Parade vibes or something
So many people saying this is best since Chuck, that is giving me huge expectations since Screaming Bloody Murder is fantastic.
Easily best since Chuck for me too. And I'm a big fan of the last two. Even Underclass has plenty of songs I like a lot. But yeah, this wins
Can't wait to get my vinyl from Amazon tomorrow. Been listening to the album non-stop, but it will be nice to give it an actual "spin" lol.
Chuck and SBM go hand in hand in the heavier side of Sum 41 though, which is what the tracks they've released this far seem like. I'm not sure how SBM became the step child of this band when their other two heavy albums are loved lol Edit: Oh and I keep forgetting about 13 Voices which has a lot of great tracks too.
This has nothing to do with the actual music, but I always thought the album artwork for SBM didn't fit with what they would usually do for some reason.
Besides this most recent one, I am "eh" on all their other album overs. Does this Look Infected is maybe the 2nd coolest one.
I'll be interested to see how this sells compared to 13 Voices. You would think with having success on the rock charts that it would sell better.
Revisited Underclass Hero yesterday. Even though it’s super poppy version Green Day and With Me sorta rips off Only One by YC, I think it’s a fun album.
Definitely a few duds on that album, but a lot to enjoy as well. It had some really good b-sides as well.
