A Murder of Crows is such an awesome opener and Goddamn I’m Dead Again is so good. Three years later and I still get chills during Dave’s solo at the end. It’s pretty underrated. Sure, some songs don’t quite meet the bar like “War” but I would say for the most part - it’s a great record. Hell Song is great but I gotta agree with this. Mostly, because I played the song to death at this point.
Lol ok here's my hot take. I never liked Motivation. Out of all their singles, it never did anything for me.
I was pretty much on your end, until I saw it live. On album I'll take Hell Song over Motivation. Live though, it's just something else. So much energy.
It's okay, I'm second! We have to stick together! I'm with you; While I like it, I just think as big as their discography is, they can retire it live now in place of a newer track or something that doesn't get much recognition live.
If I held overplaying against songs I wouldn't like any of the first 3 albums lol. Boy especially All Killer. I'm not sure I ever binged any album more than that one when it came out.
Oh. I’ll probably still write more on Monday. Just saying since it leaked I’m commenting publicly now haha.
Gotcha. Well that's great to hear! Another question by the way. When you become a monthly supporter, does it get deducted automatically each month? Or is it month by month? Sorry if it's a dumb question.
You can do a variety of things: 1) a trial membership which will only charge once, 2) $3 monthly will automatically charge you each month, 3) $3 monthly and then cancel it immediately and it won't charge youth next month
Only partially through this album at the moment, but I'm confident this is the best vocal effort from Deryck amongst the band's catalogue.
Album flows really well and 10 tracks seems like the perfect length. It’s got the heaviness and solos of Chuck mixed with all the best characteristics from Screaming Bloody Murder and 13 Voices. They definitely did it right with this one. And yes, Deryck kills it on this album. He’s on his A-game.
I really enjoyed 13 Voices, but you can just really tell how much better this album is as a whole. Turning Away and Catching Fire serve as a great opener/closer. So happy for the band, and I can't wait for some more US tour dates. Although I did see they added that big show in Minneapolis in November. Might have to check that out.
“New Sensation” is such a cool song. It’s like if Muse and Screaming Bloody Murder (the album) had a baby.
