For what it's worth, the covers are both short interludes, not full-length songs. Still a bummer, but I doubt they were like "we could play a deep cut, buuut why not play a Queen cover instead"
Songs between them and the Interrupters sets feels like a Pandora station in the best way. No deep cuts, just stuff for the crowd to get jacked to: Time Bomb The Middle The Anthem All the Small Things (work sucks! I KNOW!) Misery Business Dance Dance American Idiot Last Resort The Kids Aren’t Alright Basket Case My wife just said she would pay half the fee to come here and just sing with people like this between sets. Guess we need to get to an emo night.
If you take a shot every time he says “ladies and gentlemen” during the show, you’ll be fucking dead before “No Reason.”
Yeah you and @cricketandclover are right, tonight they did it for nearly 4 minutes and it felt like it slowed the momentum of the show completely.
yah it takes it out for sure, they were supporting offspring last summer and did it, i was like why? just play an original. Sum 41 Setlist at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre, Tinley Park
Going to Milwaukee on Saturday. Ill be pumped regardless of what they play. However, from what ive seen, merch is meh and prices are ridiculous.
Fun show tonight in Minneapolis, but yeah I agree, the covers are pointless. Drum solo is understandable cuz Frank is a beast but they could have EASILY played something from their 2010s output (which sadly has been completely removed from the setlists now) instead of We Will Rock You and Ring of Fire. At least do Fake My Own Death and Out for Blood.
TBH instead of the covers I would have liked more All Killer. Would have been dope to see Nothing on my Back. I also would have looooooooved to see more Infected. great show though!
That pit last night was NUTS. Went to the show with about 8 friends and we got separated pretty much immediately once Sum took the stage lol
There is still, like, 95% ticket availability for the Cleveland show (albeit, it's not for another 4 1/2 months)
My show is next week and is probably right around 80-90%. Preparing for second-hand embarrassment. They haven't run any sort of BOGO promotion yet or even lowered prices, which is surprising.
From what I'm reading they do a surprise second encore if you stick around even after the house lights come on?
Milwaukee show was so awesome last night. I dont think ive ever seen that place so packed. Im glad i convinced my wife to stick around a bit more because they did come out for the second encore. Was pleasantly surprised at the number of new songs they played, although i agree it would have been nice to have at least a few from the SMB, 13 voices, OID run. Always love hearing With Me live and how they play it. Also, i honestly had no problem with the cover and a half they played. It was so quick and didnt seem to ruin the flow or anything. Amazing experience i will always remember from one of my favorite bands.
I would've made a few swaps in this setlist Some Say for Fake My Own Death Dopamine for Out for Blood the DTLI medley for just the full No Brains the covers for literally any of their own songs Summer for Screaming Bloody Murder
I totally agree with these picks. Otherwise I wouldn't mind A Death In The Family as the OID pick. Fake My Own Death is too good not to play.
Fake My Own Death was Bored To Death for this band in 2016 imo. Hyped through the roof back then the whole stage presence with production on the stage was amazing back then. And Deryck rocked the spikes for awhile too. One of the best memories seeing them on Warped Tour that year
