@Jason Tate not that you have to share, but do you know if there is a concrete release date for simple plan yet?

    Things have changed.

COVID concerns, kinda understandable in hindsight when two of the bands on that tour ended up catching COVID.

At the time Covid was getting better and even Biden had declared victory over it

wasn’t trying to slam the band really. Just thought they handled that situation poorly by canceling at the last minute (senses fail, cough). I’ll be going to this tour for sure and I’m excited, just have had over 20 years multiple times where the band canceled at the last minute for this reason or that reason. I remember way back like 17 years ago I was suppose to see them with mxpx/sugar cult and they were the coheadliner and didn’t even announce they canceled the show to film a music video (from autumn to ashes filled in which was odd). But again there was no information on it until you showed up at the venue with notes taped to the doors and there’s been a handful of other times I’ve tried to see them and they cancel really late

I went to shows throughout covid and I was a bit salty about sp dropping off, but iirc, sp dropped off the nfg tour at height of delta - idk if they had some other opportunity lined up, but that seemed like a good enough excuse. Ironically their tour with the offspring had arguably worse timing for omicron… but oh well. And for the sake of being literal, sp is Canadian, and Trudeau has never had a “alright guys covid’s over” stance.

Well, Simple Plan is from Canada, so Joe Biden is literally not their president. Crossing the border still has some complications too, I don't think it's a decision worth faulting SP over.

You mean are any of them expecting a major headliner to pick them up, right? Like I get it, but it's also super duper shitty.

I look forward to seeing both these bands at So What music festival in Arlington. And I cannot wait to hear "Ruin Your Life" live with Deryck.

Jokes aside, I feel like at this point in their careers there's like 5 bands that they would make sense as openers for, otherwise they can just do festivals and headliners.
