Lol Sputnik's "review" of this album is laughable. They just pulled comments off the internet and made fun of them, that's it. And gave the album a 1.
Chuck Underclass Hero Screaming Bloody Murder Does This Look Infected? All Killer No Filler Half Hour of Power Probably controversial. I haven't listened to the new one yet because I want to give it proper attention, which I won't be able to do with a brand new Green Day album in my life.
Underclass Hero All Killer No Filler Chuck Does This Look Infected? Screaming Bloody Murder Although tbh I haven't listened to them much at all since I was SUPER into them back in 2009/2010.
I could be wrong, but i think a lot of people have hated on "open your eyes" in the past. but i really like it for some reason. did you hear the alternate version where the solo part or whatever was the part later used in march of the dogs?
Chuck Does This Look Infected? All Killer, No Filler Half Hour of Power Screaming Bloody Murder Underclass Hero Only listened to 13 Voices twice, but I'm seeing it fit in somewhere in the middle.
Deryk rankings of the album is weird, didn't know he doesn't like most of the songs on the albums. Thought he would be more proud.
Not too surprised at his rankings tbh. I know how much SBM has always meant to him. I remember his interviews around the time that album dropped, and due to his feelings, I sincerely gave that record a shot and it didn't gel with me. I'm going to give it another go this weekend to see what I missed on my first impression all those years ago.
I guess it's hard to really fault him. His justification for most of his criticism was (paraphrasing) "I heard it this way in my head, and what came out on the record wasn't quite what I envisioned." It's sort of an unbreakable logic in terms of trying to disagree. So, I will say this: I'm glad DTLI, Chuck, and AKNF came out exactly they way they did. I don't know what he heard in his head, but what was produced was just fine by me. If SBM was exactly what he wanted, I'm thinking that Deryck's mind delivers better stuff for my ears when a few other people handle it in the studio.
I will admit: I revisited SBM today, and I've warmed up to it (just a bit) after five long years. I still hold the opinion that the highs aren't as high as any given album in their discography, but the lows aren't quite as low as I believed they were.
So, is this good? I haven't had a chance to listen yet, but the band is hit or miss for me so I could see it going either way.
There's a few good songs, sounds like a tighter/faster version of SBM in my opinion. I feel like they traded out catchy chrouses/hooks for guitars though which may/ may not be a bad thing depending on your preference
EDIT: My favorites are: Goddamn I'm Dead Again Fake My Own Death 13 Voices The Fall and Rise Black Eyes
Just listened to 13 Voices and it's not for me. I want them to make another pop punk album like All Killer No Filler or Underclass Hero, this just kind of sounds like a much inferior version of Chuck/SBM.
my signed vinyl probably wont be here till the middle of the week. i wish they would have sent them out closer to release day.
That's a shame if that's true, I remember on my first listen of Chuck, that was the song that stuck out the most to me. I haven't heard if that version btw. I'll try to find it on YouTube
