I'm not surprised either. I would say though that with Deadpool being the smash hit it was and BVS: DoF not only being commercially successful, but also having an R rated Blu-Ray release, it's not crazy to wonder if this might've gotten an R rating. Not to mention the material they're working with. (more specifically the Joker and HQ storylines)
Not including pre-2000 films, DC doesn't have very many live action movies. They can't afford an R-rating right now. Marvel is spitting them out so they didn't have as much of a risk with Deadpool.
I disagree. Fox has a pretty bad record with their Marvel films. The biggest reason Deadpool was a win was because of amazing marketing, a charismatic, passionate lead, and an enjoyable script. I don't think those are too much to ask for.
I know they wanted at least $1 billion+, but $872 million is barely breaking even? Damn. I figured they had to have spent a shitload on marketing.

Not surprising its pg13 by any means but having just read a shitload of the comics it's definitely disappointing
This would be awful. My guess is it's going to be for a montage of the squad gearing up or something along those lines.
Judging from that list of songs (and, you know, everything else we've seen), should we expect a certain level of camp from the film?
Still very excited for this, but the posters and soundtrack too have me feeling like this is gonna be a bit too cartoonish. Hoping i'm wrong. Could just be an attempt to make the movie look more approachable.
I'm confident that I'll love it, I just feel like maybe it will go a little overboard with tackiness.
