We still have a few more months of "Jared Leto preparing for the Joker" headlines. Can't wait to read what other craaaaaazy stuff he did.
One of the big reasons all this Leto stuff is so eyeroll inducing is because it's simply just unnecessary. I've been on sets. I've seen actors work. I've read about great actors working. Even the most method of method actors aren't... this. This Leto stuff is just so low-stakes and ultimately silly, most of it barely seems to connect with the Joker in a meaningful way. I get what he's going for sending weird stuff to his fellow castmates, but first of all, that doesn't lend his fellow actors any credit that they'll be able to do their jobs and act alongside him, he feels like he needs to actively be an antagonist in real life to get authenticity out of them, and that's just been proven to be unnecessary. I'll quote Sidney Lumet: "God knows, I'm not arguing for a contentious set. There are directors [and actors] who think they have to provoke people to get the best work out of them. I think this is madness. Tension never helps anything. Any athlete will tell you that tension is a sure way of hurting yourself. I feel the same way about emotions. I try to create a very loose set, filled with jokes and concentration. It sounds surprising, but the two things go together nicely. It's obvious that good talents have wills of their own, and these must be respected and encouraged. Part of my job is to get everybody functioning at their best. And if I've hired the best, think how much better their best is than that of the not-so-best." Great actors don't need to antagonize. Even the greatest method actors are delving into themselves, not provoking their co-stars, and when they do get into that territory, they're just being assholes.
Hey Everyone, I saw some outwears of Suicide Squad Movie at Sky-Seller online store. Me and my friends are planning to buy some costumes of Suicide Squad. Is there any store you guys know?
You don't have to be an asshole about it. I posted it mainly bc the movie was previewed earlier than expected.
I'm not being an asshole to you. It's the fact that the video uses two examples. It's great that people liked it, I'd just like to see more. Two people will REALLY like the next Transformers movie too. I just want a broader opinion.
This was never going to be rated R. It has the Joker and Harley and Batman in it, all characters DC wants kids to be into. It's launching a bunch of their villains. BvS extended cut aside, I highly, highly doubt there will be an R rated live action DCU movie.
If Wolverine makes a killing, I could see it happening. There is definitely room in the universe for it to happen. The only issue I see is that they don't have a big R-rated name. Lobo could EASILY carry a film like that. If they could make something in line with how Blade was, it could work. Blade didn't have huge name recognition, but the film was really well received and definitely a huge success in a comic world that hadn't had much of that.
I forgot about the possible Lobo movie. I'm not sure Lobo is any Deadpool. Still, especially if Geoff Johns is more involved/Zack Snyder is less involved, they are going to give their big, all ages friendly characters all ages friendly movies. Maybe the Joker? But I'm not sure he gets a solo movie, and if Batman is in it, I doubt they go R
I don't know why it's apparently such big news that this is PG-13, I thought that was confirmed ages ago
