We'll the you didn't read what stated with him and Jason pages back. You'll post a fact like "His band is huge and sold 15 million albums" and he'll say "naw, they aren't big and you're in a bubble". No matter what his said he replies with non facts but claims they are. It's not I discount his opinion. Saying Aronofsky and Stone aren't top level is ridiculous. It's just been snowing balling because of his wild claims with no validity. I'm sorry, but it's trolling at its finest and he's good at it ☺

Many, many people consider Aronofsky a hack with The Wrestler being an anomaly

 

Why do people that hate the director, hate the actors, and (I guess?) hate the movie they haven't seen and/or don't want to see spend a lot of time in the threads for those movies making increasingly incendiary comments?

Oh really? I've only seen the Wrestler and Requiem For A Dream so i can't speak to most of his filmography but I enjoyed both of those quite a bit. Requiem could be a bit on the nose with it's message but the way that movie was shot and edited is A+ work.

 

Again, why are you lying about what I said when the posts show otherwise? When did I say the band was not big? When did I say Aronofsky is not a top-level director?

 

That is a somewhat different discussion, but I would generally agree.

 

I really liked black sawn and Noah. There are billions of people who watch movies. By using the term "a lot of people" could be true but still not represent the majority

 

I love every Aronofsky film except Noah which I haven't seen.

 

I think it's clear by the many in this case we are talking about cinephile circles.

 

I'd say, once again, the majority of people in the world have no idea who DA is

 

Black Swan made some good money

 

If you're talking majority "in the world" literally no one is gonna pass that mark given where most of the world's population is and what it would take to hit 51%.

 

People can probably only cite a handful of directors (Spielberg, Scorsese, Coppola, Nolan) even if they have seen multiple movies from the same director.

 

I enjoyed Leto in Requiem, which I also enjoy but havent seen in a while, as well as American Psycho. I find him obnoxious, though

 

Nolan is probably the biggest modern-day director in terms of audience size and fanboyism

 

I mean when you start qualifying it as people who care about movies/media, then of course most know who Leto is. DA, maybe not

 

it actually works with American Psycho because you can get why Bateman loathes him so much

 

I think if you qualify it as most millennials, which are the largest group of people in the United States, most know who Leto is. Hell, some 10% of just them have bought a (stupid) album by his band.

 

Idk man I mean I think up until this film he was best known for 30S, and I think that's become kind've a niche band for a ton of teenagers. Maybe when The Kill came out, but even then it's kids who listen to rock
