Gona avoid as many reviews as possible. I feel like they actually did a good job promoting this movie (albeit maybe started a little too early, as others have said it feels like this has been going on for a very long time) without showing everything. Pretty much all I know is some bad guys form some sort of squad. I know I likely won't be able to see this till (hopefully) Monday so it's going to be rough.
Didn't like it. Pretty much all style and no substance. SPOILER-FREE THOUGHTS: I guess I can't complain too much because it's basically exactly as the trailer advertised: Harley is nothing but a one-liner machine, Will Smith is Will Smith with a lot of Will Smith-isms, Jai Courtney is fine, Jared Leto is annoying and his Joker is a pretty big waste. Killer Croc is basically a black stereotype throughout. Viola Davis is good, though. Overall, the dialogue is fairly atrocious. The villain is like Marvel levels of bland. The soundtrack is obvious and annoying. This just wasn't good.
damn that's what I expected but was hopeful for more. Why is the new comic book thing just to make the villain a bunch of aliens and cgi smog instead of something actually interesting to watch?
Mainly, he's poorly written and it feels like Leto doesn't know what to do with it, so it's just lots and lots of overacting for the screentime he has.
That's a shame, I was really looking forward to this one. I thought Harley would be a little more of a substantial character. I am still seeing it on Saturday.
I'm still looking forward to this and expecting to like it more than MoS or BvS because humor sells better for me in weak films than drama does. However, I am a bit disappointed that the promise of the first teaser won't be realized.
