imagine this is a marketing strategy and this is in fact the new album O_O I mean, why sit on this for so long and post it now? also, Tom DeLonge is right - there is something out there
it's an intriguing situation I might if I bump into it on the www, but I don't think I'll actively seek this out unless I hear very good things about it... honor good ole Sufjan's wishes... sorta...
I listen to a movie podcast called Film Junk and one of the hosts named Jay Cheel is a documentarian. While he was in college in 2005, he made a short documentary called Fast & Scientific, which was about time travel (he recently fleshed it out into a full length film called How to Build a Time Machine, which looks amazing) and won a couple awards for it. The reason I bring it up is that he contacted Sufjan back then in 2004 or 2005 and asked if he would write music for it and he did! I can't find it on YouTube anymore, but the music is great.
Anyone listened to the unreleased album that showed up earlier in the day? I've heard a few tracks and I really like it (duh).
Didn't realize it was already being discussed in here. I have a bad habit of just clicking on "new reply" and not reading the last page or so.
the more I think of this, the weirder it seems... seriously - who throws CD with a cover, tracklist etc. into the trash - stalker finds Stalker album??? - this was created 18 years ago... I think I might actively search for this and listen
So if anyone is wondering what you're getting here: It's lo-fi punk with heavily distorted vocals. Not for me.
His Pitchfork set last night was incredible. Had me having an existential crisis during "For the Widows in Paradise..." and "Fourth of July," only to have me dancing my ass off during his Prince cover to end the night. What a show.
