After all these years, Sufjan is still capable of surprising me. I just got totally lost in this song.
I mixed up my tracks lol this isn't the one and I corrected that post shortly after but there is some shit that has some beeps and boops and distortions that remind me of that record
if you saw Sufjan on the C&L tour and recall the musical spazz out at happened at the end of Blue Bucket of Gold this album features a lot of stuff similar to that.

imagine a more focused Age of Adz with a handful of pop structures thrown in - that is what The Ascension reminds me of.
I'm a big fan of all 3 of these songs. America and My Rajneesh are both getting better and better every time I hear them and Video Game is really cool.

I’m glad she’s getting more attention! It could have just been a case of Charli seeing the dance somewhere and not knowing where it came from but it is a bit disappointing a young black girl didn’t initially get the recognition for a viral dance craze (at least among TikTokers). The two ended up meeting though and doing the dance together and seemed cool with each other so at least there was a happy ending.

Listened to C&L and Age of Adz after listening to all the new songs this morning. Now I'm back on Video Game and my excitement for this album has reached new levels.
