Yea the magic trick of this show is that we'd all wish the worst for the real life equivalents of all these characters and yet an episode like this can break us all

 

What if...

Connor starts to get some sympathy votes and that 1% becomes 3 to 5 percent...

 

Connor is elected president of the united states in the finale. Things are coming up Connor

 

Oh I didn’t feel sad at all lol

 

I didn't just mean about Logan himself, but how it affected everyone else. I think this episode really just let all of the family trauma just ooze out of everyone, even with their disdain for him.

 

I love that they didn't show it happening and they didn't slightly tease it. It was just out of nowhere. I wonder if they filmed a scene with Logan collapsing or feeling ill and they cut it.

 

They really nailed it perfectly how it feels and what the situation is like to suddenly lose a family member. Eerily similar to an experience I had last year.

I was not expecting that at all and man it was just masterful. Really can't wait to see where this season goes

Connor gets on as Mencken’s Veep. Mencken gets murked by someone, Connor becomes president via the line of…. Succession.

 

Was a shock to realize I probably watched Brian Cox's last scene without even realizing it.

 

Mmm I don’t entirely buy that we won’t get some sort of video will or something

 

crazy of them to hide this event in an episode called "Connor's Wedding" lol

 

Preview for next week looks emotional

 

I thought this was an all-time great episode of television. The mundane nature of the preview giving way to one of the biggest shocks in HBO's tenured history (and that's saying something) coupled with the insanely realistic portrayal of what often happens when someone dies. They're here, then they're just gone. Life doesn't wait for a person's story arc to be completed, or choose a convenient time for progression's sake. It just happens. And with Logan, it just happened.

I loved all the little stylistic choices. From not showing his medical event, to opting to only show his body in vague, blurry terms, to following the kid's reactions and beat by beat emotions in real time. The performances were just off the charts. The fact that they shot so much of the time on the boat in one take, using multiple cameras and "on deck" reels to keep the action going is just incredible.

 

Yeah fucking 10/10 episode.

 

Best two episodes of the show have been recent ones (last night and the s3 finale). Always good when the quality is still increasing as you get close to the end

So was Gerri the one leaking to the press? We see her abruptly get off the phone when Roman comes in.

 

The show made me think it was Greg with that reporter but I guess it is possible it was Gerri trying to get back at Logan for the firing

 

i assumed Greg because of the awkward interaction when the girl he was talking to was like “is your uncle gonna make it?” And he about shit his pants.

Shiv and Ken were also walking by lots of people as Ken told her so could have been anyone

 

Yeah I think even the line on the plane where Karolina was like “could be radio traffic to ground control, just the fact that we turned around, Kerry, who knows!” made it pretty clear that the news was going to leak from SOMEWHERE, it didn’t really matter who.
