Can someone the difference between Stewy and his partner trying to buy out Waystar, which the Roys couldn’t stop; and GoJo doing it, which apparently just the kids thought they could stop?
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure Stewy and Sandy already had shares of the company when they attempted their takeover. They just wanted a controlling stake, which required a simple majority of shareholders voting their way (I.e taking over from the inside). The GoJo thing is different because it is Logan selling the entirety of WayStar to another company.
Since I don't remember much---have we gotten much back story on Tom and Shiv? Was Tom already head of ATN by the time they met/got together?
not much other than when he found her “she was so messed up/in a dark place” i don’t think we know whether tom was there or not, my guess is yes
Tom took over cruises in s1, hence the document shredding he has Greg do. He moved to ATN in season 2
Tom with big Roose Bolton "The Lannisters send their regards" energy with that kiss to Shiv at the end And damn what a visceral performance by Strong, Culken also killed it
Welp I was wrong. But I am so glad Jesse Armstrong and company are much smarter than me. Incredible hour of television. Literally anything can happen in season 4
For sure! And Shiv’s face, EYES and entire movements in the last 2-3 minutes were amazing and brutal.
I’m making this as a joke so don’t everyone get offended but I like that Karl and Frank took the GoT season 8 mode of transportation to get to Italy or wherever in Europe for this episode. Logan meetings with Skaarsgard around idk 11? And before the sun even sets Karl and Frank arrive at the castle after being in the US
Skarsgard will definitely have a bigger role. Should have been more specific. Was referring to the change in focus from family drama. Am I incorrect that next season is the last (or second-to-last)? I feel like the family drama is the crux of the show and to stray from that wouldn’t be in-line with everything that we’ve seen since episode one. I also think sending Ken to rehab makes sense as a concept but I personally wouldn’t want his recovery to happen offscreen, especially in the later seasons. Strong’s also become one of the biggest talents of the show, so even though that means more gigs, I also feel like they’d want to keep him around (especially after Ken’s suicide attempt).
my interpretation of this episode was that frank and karl began heading over after the merger of equals was discussed last week, since shiv said she couldn’t reach them when this week began
i believe there are 5 seasons planned but Armstrong hadn’t said anything concrete. i would love for Strong to stay on the show. he’s one of the most interesting actors around and this is my favorite show. but if we are picking up next season and it’s the kids battling with logan and mattson… it’s going to feel a bit stale. if we are now past the halfway mark of the show, it does need to evolve a bit. i doubt they make a big show of choosing the next president/being bought by big tech/etc. to have those be threads that don’t get picked up on
I know it turned out to be meaningless but I loved when Kendall said “hand me the fucking shotgun” or something like that
I don't remember what position he was in at the start of the show but he was not brought into ATN until season 2.
also loved his “that would be fun” when shiv said the three of them could have their power struggle later on down the road
