This is such significant shift in the balance of the show. Kendall alienated Shiv and Roman when he drew the lines between him and Logan, and while Shiv and Roman had to know on some level that their dad was full of shit, they still had that sliver of hope that they could trust him and maybe take over. Now it's all laid out in the open, Logan called them all morons to their face (he's right btw), so they can't go back to the facade they all knew they were living in anyway. I'm really excited for what's next.
freshman student film level bad, in a show that I feel like is generally really good at quality control
So depending how fucked the kids are, clearly a heavy decision for Kendall will be admitting to the waiter’s death and revealing his father covered it up as a season 4 storyline. If Kendall can’t gain anything from the company it he is totally out then there’s no reason not to take down Logan with that info except of course maybe losing your freedom - but they did kind of plant the seed with what Roman said after he admitted it. He was negligent and responsible but didn’t WANT to kill the kid so who knows what he’d get for jail time versus Logan covering it up (depending what proof can be found of that). Starting to think the dead waiter is how the series ends, with that reveal or info going out in the world but we never see the ramifications of it.
I know Strong and Cox get most of the acting love on this show but holy shit did Kieran Culkin crush those final few scenes. What an episode.
man. i really truly thought he was dead and him not being so and the first 20-30 of the episode had me feeling kinda lackluster. but basically everything from kendall’s confession on was a+ television. love this show so much
Ok I love the show but sometimes it feels like each episode has a different writer and is not told of everything that happened in the previous episode. the whole big dick pic thing and Shiv pressuring Gerri? Barely a passing comment in between Monopoly turns! Like, why bother with spending moments on that in the previous episode if it literally did not advance any storyline or serve any purpose. Simply made Shiv look worse but did nothing for Gerri or her position or Roman. Maybe that’s a nitpick but it’s odd.
Kendall going public with the dead waiter probably wouldn't be risking jail time; rather it's something for him to use against Logan just as a publicity move
what was Logan’s line to Iverson at the start? Said something about Kendall in the past tense which of course after the episode just seems like odd writing but I’ll have to watch the episode again subtitles to catch if it was in reference to the book and Kendall.
??? Logan and Roman were getting very close and trusting and that blew it all up. That's how it advanced the storyline.
and she said the same thing that she said in the beginning of the season about financially benefiting herself
Idk, Logan still seemed pretty close with Roman at the end when he wanted to throw Shiv and Kendall out so it didn’t seem to ruin their relationship too much it seems.
he was just saying like “your dad is fine” it seems like iverson found or saw Kendall in the pool and may have been traumatized by it
He literally left Roman completely out of the loop about the sale lol. He doesn't care about any of them
Logan thought he could control Roman, that’s it. He certainly doesn’t trust him now. That’s why he made him leave the island during the Mattson negotiations.
that was mostly because he knew Roman is the easiest to pressure, likely from a long history of abuse
you are correct. Just watched it again and he says “your dad was okay, you know?” and on first viewing I thought he meant like “he was an ok person until he died” lol
