Leftovers is excellent if you can stomach a slow start. Six Feet Under is another worthy choice if you can stomach a soap opera middle
I have tried to get into Deadwood and Rome several times and they never managed to stick. I might make an effort to change that. Also for essential HBO miniseries beside BoB/The Pacific please go watch Generation Kill and John Adams if you never have before. Especially watch Generation Kill if you want more Alexander Skarsgaard being awesome.
I should start telling people whose first HBO show was Succession to go check out Entourage as a replacement.
Would definitely recommend Industry on (HBO) Max. Two seasons (and maybe that’s it), 16 episodes so not a huge time investment and definitely lives in the same neighborhood as Succession.
I started Six Feet Under for the first time. I think this will fill that dysfunctional family drama void for awhile. After that then I will finally tackle Deadwood I think.
