i think the scenes from Barbados more or less show us that the siblings can and will get along in their own weird way and maybe moving forward that’s easier since they aren’t fighting for control over their fathers company. Like the immediate ending isn’t happy for these main characters but you think as they progress into the future, they’re still siblings and will get along eventually

Tom wanted a real relationship with Shiv. He was marrying her for what it did for him professionally, definitely, but he still had a semblance of midwestern boy in him and he put up with a lot from her and she never gave him the love or investment he was hoping for. Our last shot of them is when he puts his hand out for her to take, and she limply rests her hand on top of his. Tom won, but he didn’t win. And he knows it, it’s why he was willing to dick her over with Logan last season and Mattson this season. Like everyone else, he chose personal professional advancement over human connection, partially because he came to understand who he was married to.

 

yeah Ken is obviously gonna hate Shiv for a long time but I assume they all get bored with their money and eventually decide to jump back in and do the 100 or buy Pierce with their money from the deal like they were planning on doing before the last like 6 days happened haha

Season 4 does The Godfather Part II, alone on the park bench ending

Which means, they will reboot the show in 16 years with a Season 5 doing The Godfather Part III ending

They're all horrible people, I just think Shiv consistently lets me down as a viewer. Whether it's with the other horrible siblings or with Tom or with herself; she's disappointed me the most I think which bums me out.

I saw someone online saying that they were disappointed the show wound up being more about the kids and interpersonal drama and less a statement about capitalism, American politics & media, etc. and i just… disagree, and think that was part of the appeal of the show. You see the things that motivate these people, and their horrific responses to those motivations, and then you see them do things like undermine an election or give a nazi a news program or blow up a rocket or allow their own professional interests to contradict their stated values in pluralism or whatever. Kendall’s romantic new-corporate idealism always loses and is exposed as nothing more than an angle, Shiv’s girlboss liberal smartest-person-in-the-room shit always loses and is exposed as shallow, Roman’s wounded puppy childhood trauma shit always gives way to showing him as a fascist-adjacent(?) imp freak. Kendall and Shiv especially are shown - as avatars for a certain ideology - not only as powerless to meaningfully alter the trajectory of one of the most evil companies on earth, but also directly aid the Mattsons and Menckens of the world ascending to increased prominence (and to yes-men like Tom being installed in pivotal positions). The thing they are in cannot be made into something different than what it has always been. Even Ewan, for all the self-righteousness, is shown on multiple occasions as being too close to the gravitational pull of the company to not become an unserious hypocrite.
