Sublime Album

2019 the summer of Sublime per 10000000 thinkpieces that came out in the past month. I'm into it, sans Date Rape

 

On the real though, they were one of my favorite bands throughout middle school and one that got me way more into political hip hop and other genres of music than I was into prior. They have a decent number of songs that still rule

 

This band (mostly) gets an unfair bad rap imo. When they were at their best they had some awesome songs. Let’s celebrate that and not discuss the travesty that is Sublime with Rome.

 

Well, I just got around to listening the new SWR album....Its great. Really enjoyable first listen. A lot better than their previous one.

Jakob Nowell was probably like, "look at me, I'm the captain now!" and it got Rome shook

 

Rome has a really amazing voice, really good sound, but I never really came around to SWR aside from maybe like 3-5 songs overall. I've heard some of Jakob's rock bands and didn't really hear anything I liked. Still curious but far from hopeful

 

Eric Wilson can't be two places at once.

He's gonna be with Bud and Jakob in Orlando.

Somehow, Rome is gonna continue to do SWR shows without any members of Sublime, apparently due to prior contractual obligations.

Any chance chorus.fm could do another interview with Rome and ask him about this? Pretty wild that chorus.fm posted their Rome interview just days before Sublime became a thing with Jakob Nowell.

 

Watching the Coachella stream, I think it went really well! Jakob isn't a carbon copy of his dad, but there's enough eerie similarities throughout the set that it really works well. He seems really happy, the band sounds great, overall I am more impressed than I expected to be!

Wasn't a surprise me any means, but yes they did. It contains the whole Tangerine Skies EP and new tracks

Man, what a fuckin good band. I really need to see them with Jakob. He sounds so good live. Any time I listen to them it brings me back to taking bong rips with my friends in our dorm rooms in college. Such a huge nostalgia band for me and I can still put them on any time and get that good feeling like everything will be alright.

 

Next "new" single Sublime is going to drop is likely a remix of this one
