This is a petty complaint about the record but I very much dislike the radio static between each songs - I get why it’s there and I admire the commitment to the concept but I do not like it. Haha

 

Is it like Songs for the Deaf or something? What is the concept supposed to be?

 

The whole thing is basically framed like radio stations being changed in a fast car. The car on the cover, I suppose. Maybe something to do with the anime film?

ran through his discog today bc i'm excited for the album. man. the dude has so many great little moments. i love the high harmonies on "maybe get high and play a little GoldenEye on that old 64" in "Sea Stories." like. love love.

Definitely picking up the Queens of The Stone Age influence. Some really out there stuff on here.

 

This might be a grower for me. I like it, but not nearly as immediately as his other stuff.

Ronin was really cool. Only like 2-3 more really stood out for me on first listen. Definitely gonna have to sit down with it later with headphones while I’m not driving and give it my full attention. Preferably with the anime.
