Stubhy of Lucky Boys Confusion was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. A full message from him on his progress can be be found below.

I’ve got an important announcement for you. On Black Friday of last year, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. A few years ago, I started noticing that I wasn’t able run or jump well anymore and it was getting worse. I tried years of chiropractors, MAT, deep tissue, steroids, PT, EKGs and more blood tests than any person should endure with no success. I was at my wits end, I couldn’t walk two blocks without locking up – after a phone call with my neurologist, where I was near tears – we ordered an MRI on my brain and found lesions. Unfortunately, they weren’t just on my brain but, also, my spinal cord which makes my case very dangerous. It was a hard pill to swallow, especially, knowing that my wife was 3 months pregnant. At least, I had an answer.

When my insurance didn’t approve the drug I needed, I, vigilantly, appealed to the good people at Genentech Foundation and they provided me with the medicine for FREE!! I owe them so much.

Over the last few years, there have been comments saying that I looked bored on stage, but that is so far from the truth! I love playing music for you, it’s still my passion but, please understand, this isn’t a stomach ache or a hangover, I’m really sick. Most days, the right side of my body doesn’t move well, I’m almost always tired and heat really exacerbates my symptoms.

However, I am starting to feel better. I’m getting more mobile and my energy is increasing. The medication is working!! My last MRI showed that I have ZERO active lesions and some even have disappeared!! The issues I have probably will never go away but there’s a very slim chance I will get worse. My neurologist said that the only better news I could’ve had, considering my disease, was a cure. How about we work on that?!
I know how lucky I am and that I’m in a place to raise awareness. On December 21st, I will be partnering with Lucky Boys Confusion and Accelerated Cure Project for MS (www.accleratedcure.org) to put on my first annual charity event called “MS Sucks: Singing for a Cure” in Chicago at Bottom Lounge!! It will be split up into two portions – a full band LBC matinee show followed by a fundraiser with a raffle and different acoustic acts donating their time (if you would like to perform please reach out ASAP). Please check out the different ticket packages. We have a lot of sponsors donating goods and services that will be raffled off, a donation link and, of course, the presence of ACP to donate on the spot at the show. If you would like to get involved by donating your time or goods and/or services – we would be honored – please email mssuckssingingforacure@gmail.com. We need all the help we can get!!

Accepting MS as a part of my life has been pretty hard but, I don’t want this to be about me, I want to champion this celebration to raise awareness for other survivors that have it much worse than me. I hope to do this annually so don’t fret if you can’t make this one! My good people, if you keep coming to watch, I’m going to play that microphone as long as I can!!

Damn this sucks, but I can 100% relate. Hopefully he has a fairly good prognosis and it doesn’t progress too badly.
