    Maybe so, maybe not.

Don't think it was discussed here but I feel like the recording quality of the Patchogue Theater vinyl really leaves something to be desired.

I was wondering why the price keeps plummeting on Amazon. Guess it’s not worth it?

That's where I got it after I saw it super low on r/VinylDeals. Maybe like...$15?

$15 for a 2 LP is pretty good no matter how you slice it, and I love Straylight Run. But yeah...regardless of the pressing quality, the actual quality of the live recording is just not very good. It's not an audience recording I don't think, but it just also isn't crisp enough to be a soundboard.

When you compare to a lot of the other live records I own—Okonokos by My Morning Jacket, all my Phish stuff, Rock of Ages by The Band, etc.—it's really glaring.

I only listened to the vinyl once, but I didn’t notice anything in regards to bad quality of the recording. I thought it was fine.

Yeah I'm pretty upset with myself for dropping close to $50 for the colored version after getting it in. I'd much rather send it back and get the retail black variant which is $14 on amazon at the moment.

I honestly never knew they even had an EP called About Time. Listening now, and damn, "Im Through With the Past" is a great tune.

  13. My vinyl sounds about as bad as the original digital charity release, kinda as expected.

All the stuff they did with just the three guys is pretty interesting! It definitely doesn't have the vibe of being the same band but it was nice to see them continue the project when it was happening.

The About Time era is interesting bc it was shortly after that release and some shows that the band stopped, Will went to fun and John did some solo stuff but was probably talking to the TBS guys and figuring that out with Shaun. This was the same time that John and Mansions did a tour together, crashed at my place, and recorded a 5am demo at my university’s recording studio. I could tell John was in transition, but it all made sense eventually. I look back fondly on that time period.

this is so good, was this newly recorded or is a leftover track from the early days? honestly sounds like it could be from the 2000s

    right on! Prestigious

I could be wrong but idk if the phrase ‘fuck around and find out’ was around in the 2000s, so I’m guessing it’s newer

there's also a TBS song on this compilation. my guess is they are both newly written and recorded songs.
