kubrick stare wasn't my favorite but i thought euthanasia was incredible so i'm tapped in. specifically excited for the landmvrks collab because drew linking up with landmvrks led to greatness imo
A few people already have the album. They were selling vinyl copies at Slam Dunk Festival over the weekend.
Genuinely RIP, I remember when Goodnight Alt Right came out and had the absolutely based music video that sooooo many Youtube commenters and conservative sources got mad at. Iconic.
Album kicks ass. Sad they’re calling it a day. Was relatively late to discovering them with the last album but enjoy them a lot. Craig is such a beast in the drums
The drumming during the intro of can I have your autograph is genuinely mind bending. Also I love the downbeat podcast
Damn, just realized they were breaking up. Got into them with Make Your Own History and that album + Villains and Rising Sun were my shit back in the day. At first, I appreciated the shift towards what would kinda become their signature sound on Anonymous. I don't remember that many bands doing something of the sort in 2013. Ultimately, it wasn't something I gravitated towards that much so I lost track of them. Briefly got back into them in 2017 when they opened for Architects (spoiler: they ripped) but still, didn't really click with the newer material. This album, however, is wild. Some of the most inventive grooves, drum work, but also riffing I've heard from them and in the genre as a whole in a while. That may also be the angriest I ever remember them? Doesn't sound like a band that's calling it quits at all, the fire's still there which is impressive for guys 25 years into their career (the guitarist, at least iirc). Also grateful for Craig's online presence. Even when I wasn't on the train, I'd check out his podcast as well as his drumming livestreams. I hope he keeps playing music in some way or another, dude's chops are unparalleled in the genre. I feel like I've been missing out because I may have not given their post-Anonymous material enough chances to win me over. Time to fix that.
Craig is such a little coward lmao. Guess I get why the band is breaking up now. Thom and Andrew would never. Podcast brain is a disease I swear
it's funny too because he was touting his "sjw opinions" and how he can "have nuance" like his band didn't directly interpolate dead kennedys on a track. it is truly so strange. but also not surprising when you consider him tripling down over his support of architects after their nonsense. he just doesn't practice what he preaches.
