I definitely wouldn’t mind a time jump. At the end there when Mike was going on about seeing them at Thanksgiving and Christmas I couldn’t help but think, “....but you won’t.”

Sometimes it just happens. You move away and you - and your friends being left behind - tell yourselves nothing will change and that you’ll all see each other soon and then you just...don’t.

I feel like the next season not arriving until summer 2021 because that’s how long it is until they all see each other again is the exact way I expect them to hurt me at this point.

 

I had a friend that I moved away from in 2002 who somehow got my AIM screenname in 2005, and it turned out we had grown up to still be into all the same things. We didn’t speak for that entire time but have been best friends since reconnecting. I doubt the show will say that they haven’t been in touch, but I hope their friendships work like that.

 

When I was a kid, I went to speech therapy a lot. I’d do really well throughout the day and then as soon as I started getting tired from the day I’d revert back to my old speaking habits.

 

I’m not even close to done with the third season so I haven’t been reading, but I saw this today and don’t know if it was shared yet.

I was so worried about Steve dying. That was the biggest relief. I want a big win for him next season.

Another reason why it's possible Russians can have a gate:

Season 1 already proved you can have a gate anywhere. The Demogorgan was literally making portals through trees in the woods. That makes it possible a portal could have been opened in the original Russian site they were trying to open in the first episode of this season once the Hawkins gate was reopened.

 

Had to do some googling on that. Never seen Halloween II but that's a pretty cool reference

 

I don’t play it so I can’t confirm the details, but I also read that part of the promo in Fortnite involved a bunch of portals being set up in the play area. Could be a pretty cool hint outside the scope of the show itself.

 

Hmm yeah I don't know anything about Fortnite tbh. Is there reason to believe that they would have nods to Stranger Things? Have they done stuff like that before?

 

Don’t think it was around for previous seasons, but yeah, there was a specific tie in right before this dropped. I think they had costumes or something, and the portals were explicitly referencing the show.

 

Yeah, they've been hinting atba Stranger Things crossover event for a while now, and there are Jim Hopper & Demagorgon costumes in-game

 

finally finished this, is there really gonna be more? Is Hopper really not dead?

I'd kinda be disappointed if those were both the case. I feel like it ended well.

Considering the upcoming competition with Disney+, HBO Max and whatever Universal has coming up, I’m pretty sure the Duffers and the cast has a blank check from Netflix to make sure there’s another season.

 

Started rewatching season 1 and it definitely holds up. Man, Mike was a really sweet kid and El's whole backstory is so heartbreaking. Stellar acting right from the start from all involved

 

I fell in love from scene one.

 

They’ve really dropped the ball with Mike. He was essentially the main character in season 1, and Finn played him so well.

Season 2, he was just lingering in the background the whole season and really didn’t talk until he found out about Eleven.

And this season, yeah, he was just awful. So annoying.
