Everything I wore was either technicolor, had Tweety on it, or both, and I stand by those decisions. Erica’s outfit was a lot like what I had at a certain point, but that was waaaay past 85.
Someone came by to finish fixing something with my air conditioning today and when he saw what I was watching frantically asked, “What episode is this?!” I had to tell him I had already binged it and was going through again, but he was behind me so I paused it while he was working.
kinda glad 11 has the speech with billy. was hoping there would be payoff from his flashback scene which, while visually arresting, i didn't really "get" in the season until this point
The actor who played Billy was incredible. I went from absolutely hating him last season to feeling so horrible and sad for him. What an arc. Hope he goes onto do great things, I haven't heard of anything he's been in other than Power Rangers EDIT Wtf, he's only 24? Mind blown.
I liked how the flashback scenes were done with Billy but never felt anything differently for him. I kind of wish they had just let him continue to be the complete monster he always was. The scene with him and El was also framed in such a creepy way that it made it harder to get emotional about it.
I’m torn on his arc, not whether it was good or effective, it was. I just don’t know if I liked being made to feel sympathetic for someone who was such a racist piece of shit in s2. It does make him a more complicated and intriguing character, so I don’t know why I’m conflicted on it. I also felt Max seemed to be more positive him than makes sense from what we saw last season.
We timed these posts well. I really agree on Max as well. She obviously could still be hurt by seeing what happens to him, especially his death, but she spends the whole season acting like he’s just sort of a weirdo instead of a shockingly evil abuser.
Great point. Honestly I completely forgot about the racism, haven't watched S2 since it came out. I do agree that Max seemed surprisingly positive about him.
