Haaaaaaaard yikes on the New Coke stuff. Felt like we took a trip to Wayne’s World but this show cannot pull off that vibe. I’m so so so nervous about how this will all end.
Finished this about 30 minutes ago. Despite a few flaws here and there, I think this is my favorite season yet. Every episode was wild. Love that they seemed to balance the character relationships with all of the action, where season 2 just seemed too similar to season 1 in my opinion.
I was thinking the same thing. Really interested to see where it goes next after how this ends. Another thing I forgot to mention is how great the score is this season too. So many great pieces.
episode 2 El and Max and shopping together is super adorable. but why is Hopper such a dick this season??
The ending is stressing me so badly. The singing was the epitome of cheese but made me cry and smile uncontrollably.
Also they got me and I cried a lot at El in the parking lot but I swear the no body no death rule is hurting me sooooo badly. I know they get dusted but come on I need to see it to lose all hope!!
I have no idea where this goes from here but I can easily see a time skip being used. Also NOT THE AMERICAN?!
Halfway through the first episode, lol at Hopper "I'll just kill Mike. I'm the chief of police I can cover it up.
Random thoughts on the season: -LOVED the Dustin/Steve/Robin dynamic. Then Erica. That all worked REALLY well. -Max and 11 getting to bond and be friends was fun. -Mike blurting out his feelings , probably the first time he has ever said it. Great. -I like that while there was clearly issues in the Wheeler marriage, they didn’t make Mrs Wheeler decide to really cheat. And Holy shit, her pep talk to Nancy? That was a great moment I never thought I would get out of a Wheeler parent. -I like Nancy doing whatever it takes to get to the truth and following her instincts. But then She kind of got sidelined the rest of the season. She got some badass moments in though. -Johnathan was pretty under the radar most of the season. -I’m glad there were finally some major fallout to some main characters. Though Eleven def took the brunt of it. - I thought this season looked incredible. For some reason I can’t put my finger on it, or I’m just too amateur to know what it is, but I loved that everything looked more... I don’t even know the word. Cinematic? I dunno. I’m usually okay at describing what I like visually but I’m at a loss of terms. -I wish Will had a little more to do than to be a security alarm for most of the season. Also, did Mike reveal that Will is gay? Or just that he wasn’t interested in girls yet? -I love how Lucas thinks he has women all figured out. Would have liked a little more focus on him, too. -I have so many thoughts bouncing around I was wondering if that’s someone we know of not. Possibly Hopper? I hope not.
- I was wondering the same thing about Mike saying Will didn’t like girls. They kind of really emphasized on that for a second. - This season did look amazing. Their budget had to have increased dramatically. The difference is really established in the very first episode to the point that I was kind of uncomfortable with it. Kind of felt like this wasn’t Stranger Things. But once the plot started unfolding, it sucks you in. - Also, I really want next season to be the last. Really, the only place I can see them taking this is it turns into a full on monster/disaster movie. It has to get bigger every season. I wanna see American & Russian armies blasting missiles at an even bigger Upside down monster. Then there’s no where it could go after that I feel like. Next season has to be the last.
It basically has to be him or Brenner. And the whole, “Leave the door open three inches,” thing would really work well with him secretly jumping through the gate and coming back alive. I think they left it open intentionally, but I hope they have an actual plan and aren’t going to change it depending on the audience reaction.
