Yeah the score is similar and probably the main reason I drew the comparison. I wasn't a huge fan of it. It seemed like the aesthetic was supposed to be a joke (like Kung Fury) except the movie wasn't funny except for the over the top gore.
Show co-creator picks Dustin as his favorite child Even Creators Of 'Stranger Things' Know Who Show's Best Character Is
Can't help but feel Mr. Clarke MAY have settled becoming a teacher ala Walter White. Guy is a certified genius. Seems overqualified. His ludicrously convenient ability to answer any question was one of my favorite parts of the show.
@ChaseTx @Jake Gyllenhaal LOVED Kung Fury and Stranger things, but for some reason I've kept skipping over Turbo Kid. Is it worth watching?
I don't think so, I didn't hate it but it felt like a waste of time. A lot of people were talking about it when it came out, but I think the throwback novelty of it is the only real merit to it and there are better examples of that out there
There's going to be a timed-release of a Stranger Things poster by Matt Ferguson/Bottleneck Gallery from 12pm-1pm EST today. All proceeds from the poster go towards providing bikes for low-income kids, which is pretty neat! Also, they are releasing a Demogorgon pin. Just finished the season. That last episode had me feeling all kinds of emotions. Do we know if season 2 will be a new story or a continuation of the first season?
This show was so good. Dustin was immediately one of my favorite characters. The way he just went around with that goofy smile all the time cracked me up.
Also it's great that Stephen King loves this show -- before watching I looked up to see if it was based off of his book Needful Things. Definitely reminded me of his writing too.
Finally watched the first episode last night. Loved it. I'm already hooked. Absolutely love the 80s theme and setting. Soundtrack is awesome. Everything about this show makes me think Stephen King.
One question I have from the finale: Why did Hopper get in the black car with those guys toward the end of the episode?
