did anybody catch when steve and nancy were sifting through the stuff from the shed to gather all the heat lamps, steve picks up a big chunk of the christmas lights and tosses them aside? thought that was a nice nod to S1
All this said, if people liked that nostalgia last season and it was the driving force for their enjoyment, I get some people not liking this as much. I mean, they’re wrong, but yea.
Most of the unfavourable articles I’ve read say that this season laid the 80s references on too thick
80's references aside...my personal opinion is there's nothing I would change about Season 1 and there's a few things I didn't love this time around. But then the highs of Season 2 were considerably higher than the highs of last season so both even out.
That Reagan sign and Dig Dug really ruined the season for me personally Pretty sure less references than the first, what a stupid thing to pick on Oh wait, I forgot the Terminator was playing too. Yeah nvm they're right, TOTALLY killed the show lol
Haha yea... Like the references in the first season didn’t detract anything for me. And the less overt references here didn’t detract anything for me either.
I’m really not sure. I feel like between the election signs, the arcade and especially the soundtrack, the references were more explicit this season. That might just be because this time around I knew the show would have them because of all the talk after the show caught on last season. Either way, they didn’t make me enjoy the show any less
I don’t really see those as references. It was the week before the election. Of course there would be signs everywhere. Arcades were big in the 80’s. Those kids would go to one. Having era accurate music isn’t a reference. What I am referring to is stuff like this...
Great season. I'm just watching Beyond Stranger Things now. King Steve is def my favorite character. Dude doesn't even have to be there, yet still chooses to.
If you are complaining about the 80s references, why are you even watching this show? It's literally a homage.
This wasn't nearly as good as s1 imo. Eleven stuff outside of Hopper was just like... what? Why did they decide to go down that path? Just plain bad. I still enjoyed it a decent amount because of the kids and I love the world, but I am now sort of cautious for season three.
It was pretty stupid imo. Her sister and her gang were the most uninspired and cliche characters, plus Eight was a pretty bad actor imo. The whole Chicago thing was a waste and we could have came to the conclusion we ended up at without her actually going there. Sith Lord Eleven is kinda cool and Millie does a fantastic job but man I thought it was a waste
