The first time I watched Stranger Things was after season 2 came out I think. It was early January 2018 and I got super sick right at the end of winter break, and we also got a huge snow storm. So I was sick and couch-ridden for like 5-6 days and between snow and the weekend I only had to use like 1.5 days lol. But I was laying there feeling awful and my students had been not stop talking about the show so I said to my wife let’s steal someone’s Netflix and check out stranger things. Was instantly hooked lol
Now on Season 4, watched Max run up that hill, and a weird thought crossed my mind. When Vecna is being Billy and trying to get in Max's head, a single tear rolls down Billy's cheek and I thought man, that's weirdly extra for Vecna. Then I thought: wouldn't it be wild if since Billy had been co-opted by the Upside Down that he could still be used by them even though he's dead? Like what if that was actually Billy and the tear was legit? See, I can construct crackpot theories too, fandom!
The Byler weirdos have gone even crazier, now suggesting Finn and Noah are actually in a relationship.
One episode left in Season 4 and I'm just annoyed that that's all we get of Owens. No indication if he was killed or incarcerated, just a nothing burger.
Today I learned they call Lucas and Max "lumax." That's 20 times dumber than byler, god this fandom is weird
Season 4 finale just goes so fucking hard and more than justifies its length. Long live Eddie, he died doing what he loved, being metal as fuck.
Holly's recasting and age retcon is even more jarring coming from the Season 4 finale right into Season 5.
I’d have to think this applies to the ages of the kids as well. Like binging from 3-5 has to be a mindfuck
Eh, it's not that bad, but then again I'm pretty easy about this stuff, which should tell you something about jarring Holly is.
Random, uninteresting fact for today: David Harbor was at the Loves truck stop in Heflin, Alabama today. From the pic I saw just like passing through with some Loves coffee in hand. Right on interstate I-20 between ATL and Bham. Me and the wife stop at this Loves every time we head east and it’s like 20 mins from my house. I shoulda been there! (His main hat from S5 oddly references a hardware store from Heflin, AL that burned down 40 years ago. Which is wild cause the show is set in Indiana. There was a lot of social buzz on my FB feed when the show started and his hat showed up)
