Wait yeah is Keith the long haired dude from the arcade? I really did expect him to show up this season, because he was in a Target ad with the dad from the show that showed up in my feed multiple times.

My king. Dude said the one thing I agree with most---just make something up in your head! Especially about the military letting them all go. It's not a plot hole, it just doesn't matter! Any explanation for why they did that you make up in your head is probably better than the like the 3 episode plotline of them going to court or threatening to expose what the govt was doing to people or etc. It's easy to assume that's what happened--entire mission was on a need to know basis because they were literally experimenting on pregnant women in an alternate dimension. If you die while on that mission, you are almost definitely in "we don't know you and had nothing to do with you" territory there.
All of this is pretty spot on, particularly about people just forgetting what kind of show this is. It's like people suddenly forgot that this show wasn't Severance and that there was no need to pick apart the symbolism or expressions on characters' faces to find clues about some hidden plotline. Also, sprinkle in some Mandela Effect internet paranoia where everyone questions everything they see as if they're being lied to even about the plot of a TV show.
The worst part of all this is that every studio/ streaming platform will be taking notes and trying to replicate this “phenomenon” in their big releases, turning it into a horribly annoying trend that will constantly make you wonder whether the content you’re watching is actually final or just tied to some kind of viral TikTok bullshit you’re not even aware of.
